The Oz teams results are certainly improved from last year. Not long until they start to play a few Kiwi teams so that'll reveal how far they've come

The bulls attack vs the chiefs was mind blowing. I couldn’t believe this was a bulls team...who usually define 10 man rugby. There is a heap of talent still in SA rugby if Erasmus can use it.

Sometimes I wonder If tackling optional in super rugby. Just watching round 5 highlights and was amazed at some of the tackling.

    WHAT A FINISH by Aso!!

Some great trys all round this morning.

Highlanders simply gave too many turnovers.
5 in the first 15mins and continued in that vein.

    Good game though.

Loved Naholo's clever kick infield for his 2nd try

Rebels look well but what I have seen of the nz teams they are still another level

I’d forgotten Tyler Ardron left Ospreys, big surprise seeing him score the first try for the Chiefs today.

The blues will be nowhere near the play offs this season if that first half display is how they are going to perform.

26 - 7 down against the sharks at home. They've been rubbish, pathetic was actually the word used by the commentators.

The Sharks 7 looks like a player.

The Sharks 7 looks like a player.

Even I'd look like a player against that blues wet paper defense :D

But nah, you're right, he's having a good game.

These are the kinds of games the blues really need to be winning if they want any hope of doing something this year.

To be honest, they look poorly coached and don't have a clear game plan other than relying on individual power and skill. Reiko is wasted at 12. Moala is a bosh merchant at 13. Akira is carrying the team.

Absolute hammering now. Sharks have played some good stuff.

We just don't get those kind of games up here.

    40 - 63 sharks win

100 point match, unbelievable. Were both defences poor, or some amazing attacking play?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Foley having one of those nights he's used to from the tee. Kept the Brumbies in it. David Pocock is a monster

The rebels were in the same situation last week, and conceded 30 unanswered points in the second half

Wow, the skill levels on display for first two Hurricanes tries and Sharks try before half time!

Unfortunately highlights doesn't do justice to the end of the game.

    🤪

Hard to believe McKenzie is only 22. Cracking piece of play to set up a Chiefs try.

some try by Barrett although I thought Retallick did enough for the try not to be awarded

Rebels beaten by the argies in Melbourne.

They really are a much poorer team when genia isn't in the pitch.

Malcolm Marx is an absolute machine at the breakdown. It's unbelievable how many turnovers he's good for per game.

waratahs going to be nilled at home by the Lions

    0 - 29 currently with 3 mins left

aussie rugby gone down the drain

Jaysus this ref really isn't tolerating offside. 6 or 7 penalties in less than 20 minutes. I do think a lot of offside goes unpunished these days.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,942 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Only one of the sun wolves 10 - 15 is japanese born. A bit disappointing.

One of the things that I see going unpunished is someone slow getting back to the line and then shooting up when the ball is out. So they're turning around before they get to the line and not actually retreating fully. Racing were doing it a fair bit against Munster, especially in the second half.

    Sunwolves couldn't buy a try

Edit: I say as they score a try

Terrible luck. That's a year out for the guy.

Quite a poor game, Jaguares really struggle to score, their discipline to play through the phases is awful, they just need to hold the ball in the conditions and resource the rucks, seem to have 5 guys in one ruck and no one clearing out the next. Ref needs to send a few gys to the bin too, losing control of the game

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,942 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

So jaguares get their first win on me Zealand soil.

I thought the blues might improve this year.... Seems like their gone backwards, even considering their injuries..

    Tana out

Honestly I don't know. They've always had the talent in their squads. Changing coaches hasn't worked in past. They've gutted and rebuilt the whole organization in the past. There is no reason why a team based in Auckland should be so consistently ****. Especially when you look at the standard of players coming through the schools there. It's the best schoolboy rugby comp in the world. However their scouting has often been questionable. The number of top quality players from the region that have ended up elsewhere is disgraceful.

I'm starting to understand what it must be like to be an Ulster fan.
