Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am soon to join one of the big law firms and just wondering if there is anyone here who is working in a similar environment (law firm, accounting etc) and if so, is it typically all power dresses? Any recommendations of where to shop would be much appreciated

I work in accountancy, large firm. Not all power dresses. Business smart, but power suits and power dresses? No.

The likes of Zara do me fine for trousers and tops etc. I also tend to wear smart dresses or skirts.

Does vary depending on firm and your role. If you're very client facing, it's going to be smarter than if you're rarely with clients. Starting out id get a couple of suits, dresses and tops in Zara or H&M that you can mix and match til you suss out what people are wearing. Long sleeves are your friend, unless you don't tend to get cold. Most of the women in my office feel the cold and cardis are too casual to meet dress code.

If you are meeting clients, you'll be in a suit - dark navy or grey with a white or pale blue shirt on underneath, heels as well most likely!

In the office, just think "smart". So, pencil skirts with good shoes, tights, and plain / fitted tops. Good hair and make up will be important too. You can also get smart trousers, polo necked tops, with a blazer. This could he handy for client meetings as well.

Suistudio do some nice suits, check it out here: https://eu.suistudio.com/en_IE/l_suits?from=home

They are part of the Suit Supply group who do men's suits, and they are to be recommended. Free shipping and returns too.
