What outboard is it maybe I could talk you through doing it yourself it's mainly the impeller, gear oil and spark plugs so if you have basic mechanical skills and a toolbox it should be handy enough.

Fair play to ye Fergal, its a Suzuki DF60. I would be a novice on the mechanical side but think I could manage it as ive all the tools ( i think!) . No harm I suppose knowing the engine inside out especially when your a few miles out in the Atlantic!!!

This should get you started, Your impeller part number is 17461-87E11 if it looks bad and worn inside it would be worth buying an impeller kit something like this. https://www.ebay.ie/itm/SUZUKI-OUTBOARD-WATER-PUMP-IMPELLER-KIT-DF60-70-4-STROKE-MOTOR-ENGINE-/192137866720. You can buy these in your local marine shop " if you find one" :) or from Marine Parts Direct.

You will be using (SAE #90 hypoid gear oil) again most marine shops will have the little tube that goes from the bottle to the filling hole.
