Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If Man City get Mahrez, Pep will become only the second football manager in history, after Mourinho, to spend £1bn on transfer fees in his career; currently £960m. Pep in 10yrs as manager. Slight majority of his spend in 19 months at City. Mourinho in 18yrs

Man City up their offer for Mahrez to 65 million, financial fair play me arse but Leicester are daft if they turn that money down. Having said that, they've already moved Slimani so ....

Stats like that make you sound bitter.

We can't complain about spending money unfortunately only thing we can complain about is media misrepresentation.

It makes you sound bitter just my opinion on it as I said we have spent massive money too as has jose.. analysing statistics to get one up or a dig like sounds bitter.

    My thoughts:

    1. THe money spent by Pep is incredible if you consider at Barcelona he had a team that already had Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Puyol, Ronaldinho (for a while), Eto'o (same) etc. And at Bayern he already had Lewandowski, Robben, Ribbery, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Hummels and I am sure some others.

    2. Transfer fees have exploded over the last couple of seasons and it will become 'easier' and easier to spend massive piles of cash - its basically irrelevant to compare, imo. I saw a stat that compared Peps spending to Fergusons - think Pep has spent near as much in 19months at City as Fergie did in total at United (maybe i've got that wrong) but the comparison is basically meaningless, imo, cause Fergus didn't live in a world where United would need to spend 30million upwards on 'prospects' etc. At one point he set a british transfer record at 3.5million (iirc) when we signed Keane. That wouldn't even pay half the agent fee on a top deal now.

Look, you're on Jayo's list today, just deal with it and stop being so bitter!

    Elsewhere...

I didn't see this quote from Danny Blind posted in the thread yet regarding Daily...
I confirm that Roma want him, but United does not want to sell him on loan, but only on a permanent basis. They don't want to sell now, but only in the summer. United play in different competitions and hence want him to stay.
I can see the sense in holding onto Daily until Summer, just on the off-chance that we pick up a slew of injuries in defense, but beyond that I'm not sure what his place is in Jose's plans.

As has been alluded to in here already today, comparing Blind with John O'Shea in a utility player context is not appropriate at this stage - O'Sheamar got utilised quite often, where as you'd almost forget that Blind existed at times.

You've gone from being a Pep fanboy and closet City fan to coming across as bitter for posting some financial stats that were perceived to be a dig at Pep.

    This thread is something else.

Not hugely confident for tonight. A win all but guarantees us top 4, and we never make it that easy.

Can't see anything but a Man U win TBH. Spurs have looked rudderless and Eriksen has not really turned up since his wonder show against us at Landsdowne.

Surprised Young is in for Shaw.

So is it a 4231 or a 433 with Lingard as the 3rd deeper player (as I said but was told to shut the fk up and stop being an idiot by every single one of you bitches)
