Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

difference between Lukaku and Kane is chalk and cheese tonight.

Yeah one gets first time through balls that cut the defence, the other has to try take the ball down after it was hoofed straight up in the air

I feel like I'm watching a different game to everybody. United are having to attack away from home against a good side because they scored two early. We are leaving gaps as a result. Game plan was out the window early.

The midfield ain't working and needs a tweak but this is one of those games, for me.

    Absolutely terrible performance.

Weaknesses again exposed. Pogba vacating CM next to Matic leaving us open. Young isn't a full back. Jones having a mare.

Front three off Lukaku not working. Switch Lingard to right, Sanchez to middle and Martial to left.

People who were dismissing Spurs. It's not the 1990s anymore.

Also, that "Beautiful Chaos" stuff? Yeah, fúck that nonsense.

4 attackers and Pogba is football suicide. Cannot happen again.

Really surprised with that lineup regardless of whether it's a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1.

Now let's hope it's a line up that actually works as opposed to it being massively unbalanced leaving us wide open at the back.

As I said the other day, if this goes well it could set the tone for how we approach these games for the foreseeable future.

If it doesn't work then it could be an emergency change at half time and back to the drawing board again.

    *fingers crossed*
    :(

Match thread has been taken over by swarming Pool fans, nothing like a couple of brain farts from united to get those lads in the mood.

    Glazers Out!

Jones awful. Young leaving too much space. Matic under too much pressure, and our attack and defensive aren't getting linked at all.

    And Pogba?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭limnam

Little point in signing Sanchez if our attacking strategy is sh*t overhit balls over the top to an offside Lukaku that Lloris just cleans up.

I'm starting to warm to you

  • Hows about relax? I suspect the midfield will be adjusted

Jose looked like he had the subs already lined up considering he went into the tunnel early

Bring herrera into a midfield 3 and a straight swap for Jones as he's on a yellow

Getting a draw here at this stage would be a good great result

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Hard to get annoyed when this happens. Two mental goals. Need to get to HT and regroup

I think you are hugely underplaying it. Goals aside, we have been wide open every time spurs have attacked. After the first 15 minutes we have offered little to nothing going forward.

In a deep hole here. Do these players have the appetite to battle their way back into it? I doubt it.

Formation change is absolutely needed. Midfield is being killed. Pogba might as well not be on th pitch.

Under Fergie I would still give us a chance but I really don't see Any way back for us.

Looked threatening enough at times, but without creating anything

Seem to be too much of rush to play the ball over the top,Spurs are finding it too easy to get at Utd,few passes and there in,

Pogba seems to have spent more time out wide then in the middle

On the bright side , Chelsea currently losing to Bournemouth

lingard off, get either fellaini or herrera on, need to get a bit of control in midfield.

id nearly take young off and bring on shaw as well

Trouble is for us to get 2 would probably mean conceding again

Lads Pogba is too easy to stop and is rubbish when we need sleeves rolled up.

    4-1 or 4-2 I predict

Don't know why people bother making match threads. Pool don't bother and don't get half the "stick"....

Worried that midfield wasn't going to be strong enough to deal with Spurs', not to mention the usual crap of Smalling challenging for balls he can never win etc. and the general bossing himself and Jones are getting. Spurs winning every first and second ball as they please.

I feel like Lukaku is far too quite in these games, hasn't won a single 50/50.

He's not even getting 50/50s. More like 70/30.The supply is crap.
    Midfield needs another anchor.

I don't go near the match threads anymore no matter if where winning or not.

If I'm gonna post I'd rather it be in here with our own fans and less **** just looking to get you going!

Considering the amount of time we've had the ball

and the amount of actual decent balls into him

What do you expect him to do differently?

Some might say "hold it up"

How do you hold it up when a ball is badly played into that you've a 30% chance of getting on to in the first place?

There's not many players who couldn't be critiqued out there why you're picking one of the players who deserves is the least is a bit mystifying.

if he was missing chance after chance it'd be a different story but we're not creating anything for him

Someone mentioned the difference between kane been night and day. The difference is nothing to do with kane and lukaku it's the players around both of them.

Not lukaku faults, he makes a great run screaming for it and they don't even look up to find him, just launching high balls

Do they all speak in their native language while they're out there or what?

    So much miscommunication.

holy jesus that was awful. the passing is just not good enough

Half the players seem to be on a totally different wavelength tonight.

They might have better players, they're not playing better though and they're not playing in lukaku the way spurs are kane.

Thanks for missing the point completely though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

    Fellaini and Lukaku up front.

    Do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,558 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

Fellaini coming on but too late imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,196 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Players getting frustrated lukaku getting pissed he's not seeing anything of the ball, not our night by the looks of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,558 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

Pogba off, no harm really hasn't done a tap tonight.
The changes have came too late imo.
