Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Worst performance of Mourinho's time here?

I'd say Huddersfield was worse. At least Spurs are a decent side although they didn't have to be tonight.

Has to be one of if not the worse performance I’ve ever seen from United. Completely outclassed . It’s men against boys, absolutely horrendous

Be delighted just to lose this 2-0

Think Mata for Jesse was the wrong sub and doesn’t strengthen the team at all.
A formation change was needed and we ain’t got it.

It’s being outfought is no surprise anymore.

I genuinely can’t remember the last time we proper outfought a team. Such a lack of character.

Spurs look more like scoring. Embarrassing stuff.

Big difference in adding a cm and parking the bus. I really don't think anyone with a bit of sense or eyesight would have called it that way.

    Where is Sanchez?!!

He was clearky limping after a tackle.

    Some hyperbole here.

What tackle ? I rewound and couldn’t see him limping?

When we went two nil down, the players seemed to switch off and give up. The old "character" issue cropping its head up again.

Herrera on and let’s a CB stroll past him.

It was very clear he was trying to tackle but was limping.

Chelsea didn't close the gap and Spurs and Liverpool will be taking points off each other at the weekend.

It's a miserable result and an even worse performance but it didn't happen at the worst time possible at least.

It wasn’t a tackle, he had a coming together on the United s right side closest to the camera, held his calf for a few and started limping and trying to run it off while chasing back when Spurs attacked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Taught we looked quite good early in thr game even with the early goal. Second goal destroyed us.

I can't believe how bad we have been since no effort at all no one has stood out and Spurs have totally bossed us.

Very very annoying especially after we had been in good form and very solid of late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,943 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

Heads are completely gone, can't string two passes together. Lack of fight tonight is worrying.

It was very clear he was trying to tackle but was limping.

Why would physio not try treat him on pitch or walk down tunnel with him?

How can dominating a team but not taking your chances be worse than tonight?

I see Utd tweeted it was an injury but I’d like to see the replays, I’m sure BT will show it a few times. Mourinho will say afterwards anyway if he was making a point.

Herrera fitting in nicely into the shambles.

Mata for Lingard was a bizzare and pointless sub.

No, was in his hand as he walked though the tunnel door.

He did pull up a bit about 3 mins before being substituted

This reminds me of the pool game when we couldn’t string 3 passes together, only difference is out defence is ****e tonight too

I'll brush this off as an annoying night and hope it's a once off match, where the quick goal just got into their heads badly. Expect to see a mauling of Huddersfield though.

Grey Jersey style excuse type play here we can't see each other

Also, having to give City a guard of honour is getting somewhat likely.

Out fought, out classed, utterly abysmal.

Early goal or not, we have been absolutely horrendous tonight and Jose has to shoulder the majority of the blame, he picked the team and formation which has been over run since the first whistle.

Lukaku completely starved of service and resorting to playing in midfield trying to create something.

Matic run ragged trying to contain the Spurs attack.

    Just awful shyte.

Make no mistake, we will be in a dog fight to stay in the top 4.

Again nothing to do with lukaku tonight he is feeding off scraps

martial starting on the right was a crazy decision also. Luke shaw should have started as well

    Herrera atrocious.

its not even 50-50 balls we have been loosing we have been so far off the pace there should be a ton of coffee cups being thrown around the dressing room after this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭limnam

Lukaku needs to get better at getting to over hit balls.

Why he can't read players not been able to pass to him and not guess how bad the ball will be and position himself accordingly is dumb founding.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 776 ✭✭✭Fall_Guy

Its just been one of those nights. The goals were horrendous, we didn't take our chances to reply.

At the same time, it seemed clear that the change to make was to replace one of lingard/martial/sanchez with a midfielder and free up pogba to do what he does best.

Replacing Pogba with an even less defensively sound player in mata completely negated the introduction of a midfielder for Lingard, and in truth, Spurs have gone from being well on top in midfield to literally walking through the midfield at will since Pogba went off. It may have been frustrating to see Pogba underperforming but the team are always better with him on the pitch. They are immeasurably better when he isn't stuck in a 2 man midfield. Yes, they get away with it in many games, but that doesn't change the fact that it could be so much better.

Pogba's talents are many, but he just isn't the player he could and should be when he's played in a 2 man midfield. Break the bank for a deep lying playmaker this summer and play them in a 3 man midfield alongside matic and Pogba, and I would be so much more hopeful that this team could start to add up to the sum of its part from an attacking standpoint.

Huddersfield are crap, gifted them goals that day but still weren't good enough to win it when they sat deep.
Gifted goals tonight against a top side who have just dominated us since.

I would have a bigger problem with the Huddersfield game than today although both games are brutal performances.

They probably just want to impress Sanchez by giving the ball away as much as he has all season.

    Spurs pretty dirty tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Dele Alli is just a dirtbag. Countless tackles have shown this.

But he's English so it's described as "slightly petulant."
