Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That is some shambolic shít. Are they drawing those lines free-hand?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,597 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

He was level with the defenders knee on the BT replay

Do you expect academy products to be superstars the second they come to the first team? Utterly pathetic comment with no understanding of the United culture.

    Yes in honesty I do
    That's the united way
If you're good enough you're old enough

But mctominay is not good enough in any game I've seen so far

So I assume the purpose of this VAR trials is to make sure everyone hates them and we can just go back to how it used to be

"People say ‘go with the flow’ but do you know what goes with the flow? Dead fish."

Omg the Lines that BT tried to use to justify it was hilarious.. not even close to parallel to the lines on the pitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

It's only game management when it's pep right?

anyway, won't be expecting much more from the blue side of things today.

Game management when it's in the second half and away to a good side like United with a lead to protect. We scored in the 3rd minute against Huddersfield, a bit early to drop back and soak up the pressure if that was the intention.

  • Var is just as subjective as making a decision like that in the moment

    Goal should have stood

The lines aren't lined up with the penalty box lines!!!

The crookediest straight lines I've ever seen

Nice to see they’ve employed a 6 year old child with an iPad to call offside decisions

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

BT did heir own lines straight and it's onside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,508 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

    Varcical

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,496 ✭✭✭Will I Am Not

    VAR is an absolute farce.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

What a shambles var is that will surely end it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

thats a laughable decision, but you would have to blame the var system rather that the ref. the ****ing lines are not even straight!!! that needs to be fixed straight away. suppose thats why they are using it in these games but that was embarrassing

The ref takes as much blame as anything as far as I'm concerned. They have eyes. If they can't see from that replay that it's not offside then the ref looking at it and making the decision is an idiot, simple as.

I cant move passed those squiggly blue lines, like is that for actual real haha?

Don't know if we have been poor or Huddersfield been really great. We look slow and no legs in midfield and no build up play what so ever. Maybe the sort of game we need and to get through, bit of character building.

Even if they said they didn't use those lines, the fact they showed them really makes it look farcical

They definitely used them, and then said they didn't just to save face

My laptop overheated so I missed all of that. They’re actually ruining football with this nonsense.

Even the straight line they said they used is not lining up with pen box

    What?

Any line should be parallel to penalty box, not to your TV screen.

Yeah it is in reality but from the perspective of the tv camera it should appear to be at a slight angle.

Central midfield is by far the most difficult position to make the transition from underage football to first team. It’s not like he’s first choice. He’s playing because of injuries and he has done well when the team is playing well, and a young player like that is hardly expected to set the tone of a game. I think you can cut him some slack, there are plenty of seasoned pros out there that aren’t doing any better.

    Huddersfield are pathetic divers.

Not really, the lines should be drawn parallel to both the cut in grass and the penalty box line irrespective of the camera angle.

But the penalty box line should appear at the same slight angle then, shouldn’t it?
