Setup for new and existing space

28-01-2018 6:16pmHi I’m planning a setup for a new and existing space hope you can help probably 4 months away from purchase and I know tech changes regularly but want to nail down a few things for the electrician to work on and plan.
I often drop in for a nose on the tv front as I probably will look for a 50” tv
Maybe Phillips Ambilight whatever else is available at the time
I just think the 55 are huge but will have a look at the 55 oleds as the oleds don’t come in 50’s
Plan on sitting 3-3.5m away from the tv.
I added a drawing
Family room and kitchen dining are marked in the wrong rooms in this plan
Pink box in utility is router and a little server
Planning to run cat 6 to a switch at the tv point
I will have a sky tv box and possibly android box here to stream from my server
Yellow line is a Playbar or Playbase I don’t know which is better
Blue spots are the new Sonos ones
Green is main seating area
How do you think this would work or should I use something altogether different
Budget will come into play so not worried about the sub at the moment and may rule out the larger oled tv as they can be added later when the funds allow.
If this is in the wrong section I apologise and please move it
I would appreciate your help even though the purchase date is a bit down the road.
Just building a budget for various items in the whole extension and want An idea how far we need to stretch
Thanks1

Thanks for the post.
I've had a look over your drawing and if it is a wireless rear setup, then Sonos is pretty much the only option.
Sonos is great for how flexable it is and how many features that it has.
For me the Playbar does sound better to the soundbase and you have have drawn paired up with the Sonos Ones would give that surround sound feel.
You would then only require one optical cable from your TV to the play bar and everthing displayed on the TV would be out putted through the playbar.
The Play bar currently retails at £699 and the Sonos Ones at £199 each.
We have a bundle deal at the moment onSonos One x2 for £349.00 (Thats £50 off).
I could offer the Sonos PlayBar at £675, making a total for the 3 items £1024.00
Adding in the Third Sonos One for the Kitchen, the total would be £1209.00.
TV wise. The OLED screen only come in a 55" and above unfortunately.
At the moment the only Philips Ambilight available to us is the 55POS9002 priced at £1799.00

The LG 55B7 OLED is coming in at £1499.00
http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202521-oled55b7v.aspx
For a good 50" there is the Panasonic 50EX750 price at £829.00
http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202577-viera-tx50ex750b.aspx
In a 49" There is the Samsung 49MU7000 priced at £749.00
http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202582-ue49mu7000.aspx
Or the Sony KD49XE9005 priced at £949.00

All listed TV's come with our 6 year guarantee free of charge.

Thanks for the reply I was a bit unsure if the 2 play 1’s were enough in the tv space
In your opinion could or should I add anything or plan for anything else in the future ,or is there any point in running cat 6 to any of the speaker points
I will have something like a switch with multiple data points behind the tv and a Wifi access point in the ceiling of the extension . I think I marked it with a black spot on the drawing
I will be looking at a playbar and 3 play ones and a tv in a few months minimum once I can get the build close to finishing
I’ll be back to you when I’m more accurate with my budget just in case I can stretch to a better tv and sub ....

When pairing the Sonos Ones to the Playbar for home cinema you can only use two of them for rear right and left. The only other thing you could pair with this setup would be the subwoofer. This would in complete the 5.1 setup.
The only reason to run CAT6 to the Sonos Ones would be to hard wire them to your router if your Wifi signal was not the best. This would avoid any drop outs cause by your wireless connection.
You also need to have power point for the Sonos Ones to plug into as although wireless they still require main power.
What is the data point that will be behind the TV going to be used for? Will this just be for sending your internet signal around the house?0 -

I know I need the power at each speaker so that’s ok
I plan to run one cat 6 to a switch that will be split to 4 or 6 connections to tv (sky box, android box,any thing else)
And also another cat 6 to another tv in another front tv room
Easier to do it now when walls and ceilings are slabbed
Couldn’t look at anything surface mounted
iPhones Ipads computers etc working off Wifi
Boxes at tv hardwired0 -
