Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey friends,

I want to extend my kitchen out by 14.5 sq metres to create a dining area, anyone able to advise ballpark costs for construction?

Ideally it will be a lean-to style (sloped roof with two skylights) like you see in a lot of new build housing developments. It would also need a long steel beam to support the back wall of the house that i want to open out.

    Thanks
    E

30-40k depending on what level of finish you want.

Ballpark to give you an idea until you get actual quotes.
Based on a quote given to me for a client today for flat roof extension in north Dublin.

Wow I was not expecting that much! It's only going to sit a dining table 😂

    Demolition works.
    Steel works.
    Foundations, sub floor etc
Making good the join to the existing house.
    finishes.

You wont see it adding up.
    15 Sq. M is a decent extension.

Best to get 3 quotes from local contractors to get an exact price.
