    Hi there

Im looking for a small unobtrusive wireless door sensor for a shop..

So the scenario of a shop where the owner lives out the back, and a customer comes in, the sensor will tell the owner there is someone there, and if there are any that can text or have an app notification that would be great..

Are there any of these that you guys can recommend?

A motion detector camera with alerts like a nest camera will do the same thing

On the cheap end, Xiaomi Mi Smart Home, it comes with a hub the includes a bell/siren and can link to a door/window open/close sensor and motion sensors.

Opening the door can trigger a bell noise on the hub and also send a notification to the phone.

You can buy multiple hubs and link them so they all ring at the same time if a big building.

You can also add a wireless switch to act as a bell button:

Is there an alarm system in place and if so, what make is it? Most systems can be set up to chime when the front door is opened.

Added advantage to the alarm chimes is, the person entering will know that the shop keeper is alerted.
Overall none of the methods gives a reasonable level and of security. This type of solution worked years ago when most people could be trusted.

    Other Option :
You can buy a TP link network camera in Power City for about €70. This has a motion detector which can send an alert to your smart phone when motion and /or noise is detected. You can set level of sensitivity.

Won't work. If someone is already in the shop it will false trigger and will drive them mad with alerts. A simple chime when the door opens is perfect.

With the Xiaomi setup, you can buy two hubs/chimes, put one in the store and one in the back, they will both chime when the door is opened.

In my experience chime and notification is very fast, less then 1 second.

This is obviously not a proper security setup, that needs to be something separate, proper CCTV, etc.

You can also simply use an oldish Android phone, plugged in running on your WiFi or off of a €10 48 Months sim.
Motion detection, push to talk, backs up online, live feed also. Through your gmail account.

Quick fix solution while you decide on what's for you.
I use this set-up to guard one side of my house and, while it has severe limitations, its very good. And very free. And almost instant.

But its not a sensor on a door.
