Advice before taking over OMC

We are shortly due to take over our OMC from the developer, small development 21 units. One of the residents is suggesting that we take legal advice before finalising and also that we have a surveyor check the estate to make sure everything in terms of infastructure (waste pipes etc) is where it should be according to…

has anyone been through this before, and if so what steps have you taken prior to taking over the OMC.
