    Hi,

I am planning a road trip in Italy in September with my girlfriend for 1 week to 10 days. The plan is to fly into Bologna and fly out of Rome/Naples depending on how much time I think I will have. I am looking for advice on places to stop along the way, sort of hidden gems, nice towns/areas. I am thinking the route to be Bologna, Florence, Pisa/Sienna, drive down towards Rome along the west coast and then to Naples. I will not be spending too much time in the city of Rome as I plan on going there again so that's why it might be possible to go towards Naples.

We will be driving a rental car for the time there, I know that Italy has a good train system but I would like the option of stopping when I like and where I like, so any recommended rental agencies also please?

Can anyone advise more on this trip or have they done something similar? Is the west coast worth driving down along?

    Any advice welcome.

    Thank you
