First 6 months apart from the first month

31-01-2018 3:06pmI just rang up to change from my current rolling 30 day SIM only contract to a different 30 day contract. There is a 10 euro discount for the 6 months (advertised as 15e for the first 6 months and 25e thereafter) - except I'm told by the Eir rep on the phone that the discount doesn't apply for the first month - it only kicks in on the second month. What is this about - and why doesnt the website tell you this???? It's not advertised like this at all.0

I mentioned if it's applied before the beginning of the next billing cycle, For example, if your billing date is the 5th of each month and you call in to change your plan on the 1st, if the discount gets applied before the 5th it will go on from the first month.
