Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Midfield so good because not only are they working their bollox off but they also understand their role within the team. Great balance offered by Milner, Hendo and Ox.

Just a shame fitness won't allow them to start every game.

That was the best 45 mins Liverpool have produced since the 2nd half in Istanbul

It was far better tbh. We were only really great in Istanbul for about 20 mins.

Will be good to be able to rest some key players in the second leg ahead of the Bournemouth game.

Score three more goals and keep a clean sheet and maybe.

some workrate in that first half can they keep that going all game

City had more of the ball, we conserved and then exploded. I think we are good to go for another 45

This is far from over........3/4 of the game left.

But the German neighbours now know who I support!!!!

We're 3-0 up but it still feels like the next goal is the most important one. Make it 4-0 and we've done it, it goes to 3-1 and they're right back in it.

Think Mane has been sensational out there. His touch is there tonight and he's finding tons of space. But honestly its been a team performance.

I think it's better than that and against an arguably better team.

Still can't believe City's tactics and set up, they're suiting Liverpool to the ground.

Klopp, who according to the neutrals only has one tactic and no Plan B has set the team up well and adapted from the high press.

I'd imagine Sterling will be on within the next 15 minutes.

1 away goal and then they only need a 2 goal win back at City. I'd love this to stay as a clean sheet, so vital to our chances.

Mane / Salah switch and the fullbacks as well

Well that's that then, Gini on, are we giving up?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,977 ✭✭✭HandsomeBob

Maloney on RTE said before the 2nd half "City look shellshocked...maybe something to do with before the game, we'll find out in the coming days." And the sh1tstirring excuses begin.

Fair play to Dunphy who basically said nah, just looks like the Liverpool players want it more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Hope that's not serious for Salah. Need him next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Salah off will give City more umph to go forward

Do wish it was Ings that came on. Penning them back is how we've gotten where we are. If they lose the fear of us up front, they'll dominate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

What are we doing ! Need to keep playing , keep ball, keep attacking !

Don't like this. Liverpool need to get stuck in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Take him off now don't play him on Saturday and let him rest up for next week, need to keep it tight now a clean sheet here is just as good as a 4th goal you would assume

    ******

This is a similar start to the first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,977 ✭✭✭HandsomeBob

Milner in trouble now....****e, game taking its toll.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,497 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

With how we play, we’re always going to have spells like this where we sit back, soak up pressure and recuperate to go again. Klopp or one of his coaches have said as much. Spurs was different because we went hell for leather for a full hour and were knackered for the last 30 minutes. Around the 70 minute mark I think we’ll see another burst of energy from us.

We can't be purposely giving them the ball back. This is just poor play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

That was Harry Kane with Voodoo doll on Salah.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

    Team is falling apart

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

We were always going to sit deeper this half. Problem is with Salah off our counter attack is a lot less scary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 767 ✭✭✭patsy sally

dropped awful deep start of second half inviting city on every attack now
