Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

£75m on VVD has to be amazing value for money for this Liverpool team.

****ing hell! :D What is the cost though? Salah is back on the bench so he can;t be too bad. Hendo out means Can needs to be back.

Salah saying no it's not bad to Klopp.

    Thank Mohammed.

    What a great bloody win.

Attacking masterclass in the first half and defend like tigers in the 2nd.

So much for Liverpool's "poor" defence.

    TAA was magnificent. MOTM.

I've been critical of TAA after his last few performances but huge credit is due to him tonight. He was excellent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Zero shots on target for the first time in Pep's City career.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,729 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

Salah looked like he was telling Kloppnthatbhe was grand!

    Fingers crossed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

City did not get a shot on target, not a sniff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Mohammed vs Jesus seems there was only one winner tonight...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Now can Liverpool sit out the rest of the game for a tidy 3-0 win?

    NO

    Yes :pac:

TAA was outstanding, delighted for him and all the stick he was getting....flawless defence, electric attack, still only half time but a perfect result really, couldn't ask for more.

Amazing result all the lads put in a huge shift.

Trent man of the match from me what a ****ing performance from such a young man. Delighted after the over the top abuse he has taken off some of the folk in here.

Phenomenal, rode their luck in the second half but what a performance. An away goal is realistic in the second leg. *cracks another can*

Lads remember when we thought it was mad to wait for VVD... it wasn't. He's a wall.

Superb performance, City targeted the left side all evening. Didn’t get a sniff.

Down beat end to match, but that second half was as good as first for opposite reasons. Need to be able to keep goal safe as well as score goals.

****en hell lads. What the **** just happened.

When? They knew what they were doing. City didn't have a single chance all game. That was a masterclass. You can't play like we did in the first for two halves. We did the work in the first and then did what everyone has wanted us to be able to do for the last 8 years in the 2nd! We were AMAZING!

I've been holding my breath since about the 50 minute mark. Was some relief to breathe again at the full time whistle. I'm surprised I'm not dead!

You wouldn't think it was City who spent £130m on fullbacks this summer.

We have a defence you can rely on. Combine that with our boys up top... skys the limit boys! the sky is the ****ing limit.

houghton and hamilton sounded awful disappointed city didnt get a goal

Fantastic stuff. As well as the goals, the committment shown was off the scale. Did a City player win any 50-50s they were involved in?

Tonight is the reason klopp was brought in, absolute massive performance from everyone on the field tonight. Hard not to have Salahs injury in the back on the mind for the second leg aswell as henderson out (hopefully can is back) but we really are in the driving seat going into Tuesdays game. I'll be interested to see how we line out vs Everton on Saturday.

Physically sweating after that...although it could be illness :o
Please god, Allah or whoever that Salah is ok

You just can't write a player off because of one or two mistakes.

He's very talented but still learning.

He was immense tonight against one of the best players in the league.

Early Mane goal, nice handy 3-0 win. No worries at all.

Hopefully you had a few quid on that... :)

Denying City an away goal is absolutely massive.

They will need to attack in the second leg but know if they leave themselves too open and Liverpool can grab a goal, they’ll need 5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

So much for Sane to tear TAA a new one

I can't say I enjoyed that second half much but with hindsight of knowing we executed it successfully, it was exactly what was needed.

We weren't perfect but what was important was that we defended perfectly.

Back 5 all near enough perfect. Bar 10 minutes at the start where passing was a little wiggly, 4 mids were excellent, front three ruthless.

Solanke did enough but he needs to get quicker if he ever wants to play in this side. Too slow to press.

Individually and in combination absolutely top class.

I hope people remember how Trent played tonight the next time he makes a mistake, there is the makings of a quality player there, he will take a little time to fully learn his trade. We have 3 quality right backs

Brady saying we weren't that good... he's senile.
