Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Still buzzing tbh. Huge result, with the - 0 part of it the most important. Some excellent performances, but miner and especially TAA were very good, especially given they TAA was identified and targeted by City as a weak link. Very satisfying to see the bus being parked in the second half too, shows a new element to the squad that wouldn't have been possible earlier in the season.

Hopefully Can, Ragnar are fit for next Tuesday and Clyde gets a run out against Everton.

I wonder what the odds are for Masterson to make his Liverpool debut in derby game.

If we score one next week, and i'd say that's a good bet, then city need to score 5 to beat us.

This is what we should be talking about, and not the handful of clowns that threw stuff at the City bus. Incredible atmosphere.

TAA's discipline was the biggest thing that impressed me tonight. Stayed back, did his job on Sane, and didn't get caught out of position. Robertson the same on the other side. That's the huge difference between Moreno and Robertson, Robertson knows his job, and bombs on at the right time. Taa just needs to learn that too and he will be phenomenal

    I come in peace.
Only just peeled myself off the ceiling. That was incredible.
I haven't watched the RTE coverage of a game for a couple of years but when did Dunphy start talking like a teenage girl with all the upspeak? He was at it constantly before the game. Odd behavior from an old fella.

We can surely field a strong enough team to give it a go and rest players for Tuesday?

Hendo plays the weekend as he is out next week.

    Mane is facing Salah.

I thought Mane was just doing his trademark copycat celebration.

Wow what a performance. Our much maligned midfield hold there own yet again. They all might not be spectacular but its very rare they don't dominate the opposition. We are set up for the front 3 to score the goals. The midfield have a certain job to do under klopp and they consistently do it. Tie is far from over hopefully can is back and salah is OK as if both of them are out we are seriously down to the bare bones.

Anyone have stats for goals conceded per game before and after VVD?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Milner has equaled the CL record for assists in a season with his 8th assist in this seasons CL.

VVD and Karius have made a big big difference to the side.

I know... we made the plans ages ago so I couldn’t shift it.
Jesus, after missing that game you better get more then the shift :pac:

    And Robertson.

VVD does excude a certain calmness that helps the other defenders I think. Especially Lovren.

Lovren was brilliant tonight. Makes some difference having a calm composed head back there (VVD).

Robbo also brilliant. Was telling how hardly any ball went down his side all game.

    That is just hilariously fantastic.

I'm setting up a shrine in the morning for when the kids wake up....

Messi and Ronaldo each side of him. Better pick the right one or no sugar for breakfast.

    Wonderful stuff.

Lads - who was the last Irish player in a Liverpool European team .

Good while - back to maybe Finnan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Everton will surely never get a better chance to win a derby. At home to what will be a very understrength Liverpool side.

VVD and Lovren might have to play again unless he gives Masterson a game.

Clyne might get a game to rest Trent.

    Salah won't play.

Milner at his age will be rested.

Hendo will play as he can't play in the 2nd leg.

Solanke and Ings to both start?

    Moreno will probably start somewhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Don't see anyone preventing us winning Champions League. We'll beat Barca and Real easy, hopefully one of them knock out Bayern.

We'll probably lose to Sevilla in the final. Be funny two nothing teams in the final.

Woodburn hasn't had a look in lately. Is he fit?

    If so:

    Clyne-Lovren-VVD-Albie
    Hendo-Wiji
    Woody
    Firmino-Solanke-Ings

Migs, Masterson, Robbo, Milner, Brewster, Mane, Can

I'd be happy to rest Firmino and both CBs, but I think after only getting 70 odd Bobby's a shoe-in and at least 1 of the CBs will play, but I think Klopp will probably play both.

Anyone talk about how absolutely rubbish Walker was for our first goal?

Who knew he'd be the English right back to look daft.

I've never liked Walker, so that made me happy.

He’s captain of the Under 19’s this season, who had a good run in the UEFA Youth League.

Amusing comment on the BBC Sport "Have your say" page from a fan, possibly getting a bit ahead of himself in the euphoria, wondering whether Coutinho will get a winners medal when Hendo lifts Ol' Big Ears :D

In fact, he could get both a winners and losers medal! Could he?
