Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ings has put too much upper body weight on, it doesn't suit his role in the team, he is going to lack the extra bit of speed /mobility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,679 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Ings and solanke really haven't done anything today. Both are stationary waiting for the ball to come to them rather than looking for it. They never preempt anything.

Firmino minding himself anyway. Made zero effort to tackle Walcott there.

Fair call on Wijnaldim being MOTM.

    Offside wasn’t it?

    Ridiculous decision against Bobby.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,373 ✭✭✭robwen

    Decent point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

That’ll do. A decent point to keep things ticking over

    Job done. No complaints

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

A point and no injuries, that'll do.

Solanke looks like he's never going to score though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 767 ✭✭✭patsy sally

    nice handy run around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Fine by me, wanted a win but get into the next round of the CL and I'll be over the moon.

    I've never cared less.

    No injuries. No stupidity.

    Job done.

Shame we didn't get the win. No big injuries or controversy though, take the point and lets finish off City in the 2nd leg.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,348 ✭✭✭✭ricero

    Happy with that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Would have taken the draw beforehand although hard to believe we drew twice with that awful Everton team this season.

If we run out of gas on Tuesday like that we will be punished for it mind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,734 ✭✭✭Fowler87

Bar that few minute spell where they switched off that was a reasonable result. I reckon another 3 wins will be enough to secure CL qualification

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,926 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

To make it even better that has to be embarrassing to Everton not to be able to beat Liverpool's 3rd string team who had no interest in playing this game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Would have taken that at the start.

This game makes me appreciate how good our first 11 is.

They wold have destroyed this Everton team.

No reflection on the players out today but you can't make 5 or 6 changes and expect them all to click like the team that plays regularly.

Now recover and prepare for City.

Assuming Chelsea win their 2 games in hand we're still 5 points plus an insurmountable goal difference ahead of 5th place with 5 games to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,794 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Happy enough with the result given the injuries we had and the far bigger game we had against City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

Missed the game but id take a clean sheet and no injuries any day of the week given the size of the game we're playing on Tuesday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Is van Dijk capable of losing out on a header? Not only does he win every single one of them but more often than not they double as accurate passes from him too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

We are so short on quality up front , top 3 are lethal then its a joke no pace at all
We need a center forward and a wide player asap

Grand. Really we should have done a bit more to win that, but a good outcome all the same.

Keep saying it but top 4 is secure.

Chelsea will drop points and we'l win games.

If Chelsea do win all of their 7 remaining games they can get to 77 points and we're now on 67 with 5 games to go.

Stroll bar maybe 10 mins.....Everton are an awful side under an awful manager, why any ambitious side would hire him is beyond me......surely they are better than that.....

Solanke and Ing didn't make the most of their opportunity but a decent enough performance all round I guess....nothing much to be excited about but we came for a point and got it......

Meh, that everton team are garbage, they celebrated getting a corner like they just scored a goal.
Would have taken a point before the game mind, not over yet, worst case chelsea win their two games in hand and beat us leaves us just two points ahead, could be squeaky bum time yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,580 ✭✭✭✭Riesen_Meal

I thought that VVD free kick was going in in the first half, it was a decent save by Pickford...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

    Good result.

Would like us to get Zaha in the summer as another forward option. Can play Left,Right or through the centre.

Solanke & Ings good work rate but not quite good enough. Origi too inconsitent.

Sorry you're right. Table I looked at was not updated yet. Edited my post now

Either way I'm 100% certain that we're fine for top 4.

Joint post-game interview with Karius and Pickford, hate that.

For a Merseyside derby it was just so meh. If Everton were relegated, I'd doubt many would miss them.

He played that in 2nd gear.

To think that some people here did not want to spend the money on him and there was better out there.

He has transformed our defence and our season in very short period of time.

Also I got a good laugh out of watching Klavan sprinting up the left wing now and then

And the fact that they missed some sitters at the end, now that’s funny!
