Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Decent first half. Don't agree with RTE, though Pool had got a good foothold on the game after the first 10 minutes, and had created a few chances before the first goal.
Henderson has been awful, hasn't offered anything going forward, hasn't linked play, hasn't moved us forward, and hasn't offered any real protection for the back 4. What I wouldn't give for Dembele.

Harsh on Hendo, i think he's playing well enough, we're playing a high press and as such leaving the back 4 exposed is often a downside of that system.

A 25 year old Gerrard as the most forward player of our three man midfield, with those forwards ahead of him... Now that's a thought.

    Oh well!

Would Jose sell us....... I'm going to hell just thinking about it.

Most complete half of football under Klopp imo.

Have to say, Klopp's judgement over what the right new player can add to the team really is incredible. We already look a totally different team at the back, and each of Mane and Salah have transformed our attack. Each of those were guys he especially hung on for. Can't wait to see how our midfield looks when Keita gets added in, if he has anything like the same type of impact into his area of the field.

Yeah, on the Salah/Suarez thing.. both incredible, but Suarez was otherworldy. Especially considering some of the types of goals he was scoring, and the workrate. Salah is top notch in both regards too, but just a hair behind where Suarez was for us all in all. But he's been getting better every season over the past few years, even as he stepped into tougher leagues, so who knows how good he can be.

Have you not seen the goals Salah has scored? Suarez would have been delighted to get a goal like mo's tonight. Let's not forget this is his first season for us.

I honestly think he has had a bigger impact than Suarez.

Suarez never played CL football for us.....thats the real shame....

Ah no we played better than that before. Porto are plain toothless compared to some teams we beat in the last 2 years.

It’s the level of control lad. Loads of possession, territory, control.

Would Jose sell us....... I'm going to hell just thinking about it.

He’d be a good plan B if we’re chasing a game but no, I wouldn’t want Fellaini at the club, even if he is their most effective midfielder.

About 2 minutes before the goal both himself and Milner seemed to come alive. Maybe there was an instruction given because they were invisible up until then but have been much much better since and have both been making really good runs, giving us some options to feed the ball out wide or into the front 3

Salah is better than what Suaez was for us.

More pace & just as strong but not as good defensively. But his pace is what separates him from Suarez.

VVD has been excellent. Some diagonal's as well.

Don't mean to be all Cliff Clavin when we're all (mostly) feeling swell, but isn't Klopp on the record as having to be talked into signing Salah by the scouts? Or am I having a senior moment?

Milner's best performance in a while.
I wouldn't write Porto off yet, they fell apart after conceding especially the second.
They could come out raring to go in this half.

Who needs the stress of giving them a chance at Anfield. This game is going our way, next one may not. Would love to see us end it tonight.

To be fair to salah he has probably scored in more games, as suarez used to get 3's and 4's in games when he was red hot.

Don't give them an early goal, they're gonna come out like mad so just match it for the first 10 minutes.

yup... Robertson looking like he's getting better all the time too... Klopp and the backroom team can spot a player.. we have to remember that transfer team told Klopp to sign Salah

Now that's a dumb tackle from Milner, he'd lost the ball, just leave it

That's three fouls in nearly as many minutes from Milner. Maybe getting a bit leggy. Could bring on AOC.

That's nearly a perfect break. Lovely 1-2 between Bob and Mo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,545 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

    Briliiant brilliant brilliant.

The pace of that attack and the pass was electric.

    Firmino's flick as well.

This is now turning into a cakewalk.
