That's 34 goals in Europe this season. Mental stuff. Porto stopped even trying which is unforgivable.

I'm actually feeling confident about tonight.

If we click then we'll get goals.

Don't often quote myself but I think it's ok on this occasion.

We are more than slightly stronger

ffs Porto have a really good Europa league team. While our defence is probably a good Europa league team, our strike force is definitely Champions League.

While we shouldn't underestimate them (as it leads to complacency), we should easily beat them over two legs. Id be happy with a score draw tonight but the reality is anything less than a two goal lead going into the home leg is a missed opportunity.

Im heading over for the home leg so I dont want us to hammer them tonight (but it wouldnt make me sad either) as it would be a second string playing the 2nd leg if we did. But winning tonight means less pressure in a 2nd leg that is days before United at Old Trafford...................

    :D:D:D:D

    5-0 now.

I think even Klopp will take a rest for the home leg.

There aren't many games we can take lightly and we've plenty who need the games.

It'll be a great chance to rest 2 of the front 3 at a time in the season where they'll be getting very little rest.

Lads - no one lese has scored as many as 'Pool now in the entire competiton so far - overtaken PSG tonight with a total of 28 vs their 26!!!

It's wonderful to see us take on a good team and to totally humiliate them in their backyard.

I heard lads were being offered coke outside the stadium tonight, but I didn’t expect our players to buy it all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,578 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

VVD looks to be great for Karius. Plenty of communication and encouragement.

Just saw him give a handshake/high 5 to Karius for coming out even though Porto were offside.
Never really saw that before he arrived.

They'll be ****ed for the weekend now.

Edit: no game this weekend actually. Sure that explains it! The fear will be worth it.

    Helps Lovren as well.

Defence also looks miles better when Moreno is NOT in the team.

He must never play for Liverpool.

    Again.

A few people are saying that Porto are weak. But they haven’t lost for 24 games. They did make chances but in fairness Liverpool have been rock solid in defense. We got the blocks & clearances in. Our forwards are on fire. We pressed continuously. Awesome unreal performance!

Looks like all that Skyping VVD did with the rest of the defence is paying off.

Yes: Lovren does look better which I never thought I would see.

    Also, agree 100% about Moreno.

I hope those who said he was playing great can now see the difference with Robertson.

I’ve noticed tonight and at the weekend that Karius seems to playing better since Van Dyke started playing regularly.

As was said earlier Porto didn't beat a couple of no marks in the group, 3rd and 4th in their group are currently 2nd in the Bundesliga and Ligue 1. They're a decent side who just got out played by a team that is very good and capable of being unplayable.

Was pretty nervous/worried/excited before that game and in the first half :pac:
    Great stuff!

Could of had more than 5 to be honest

Mane will get the headlines for the hat-trick this game, but once again it's Firmino and Salah who lead the charge. Even without Phil, there's still so much potential from this team game after game, and it's comforting knowing it's more than a one-man show like we were the last time this team looked decent.

Big shoutout to VVD and Karius aswell, Porto barely had a sniff all game. We might actually have a defence now.

Oh his teeth they shone like diamonds, you'd think he was Queen of the land. With a scarf thrown over his shoulder, our Firmino on instagram.

Couldn't have remotely predicted that tonight. Absolutely delighted

Hoping to score in a draw. To think we are going there to win 7-0 is crazy.

Yer right, Toby but we did ok.
