Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who's this ref, his face is unfamiliar?
    That's a red all day.

    He looked completely lost.

Outside the box, should be a free kick and a red card.

Is that aggression really justified from klopp?

Lol pushed in the back as he was controlling the ball it was outside the box so it should have been a free kick and a red card

Second was a free kick and a red card

The tackle before that was no way in hell a penalty, stop being delusional

Great win all in all terrible performance

So then a foul free kick and a red card say Mr Moss

    FT 2-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Ref just wanted to go home, doesn't change the result in the end but that final decision was genuinely pathetic.

Fair play to Karius making huge game changing saves the past few weeks.

Great to see Mane getting back in among the goals

    Seriously though. VAR is needed.
We can joke about it, but imagine if it was 0:0 at the time.

They don't come more blatant than that just lucky the game was won anyway

All Newcastle’s relegation rivals should be absolutely fuming with the ref/linesman. lacselles with the most blatant red foul ever

Top class, 3 pts, clean sheet and no injuries.
    Brilliant.

Richard Keys just said it was 'common sense' not to award a penalty there.

It's at moments like this I reach for my copy of the Unabomber manifesto.

7pts ahead of Chelsea, and +10 goal diff on them.
Their game in hand is a must win.

I'm actually happy enough that free at the end wasn't given. It obviously should have been, clear foul, but it likely wouldn't have resulted in anything anyway (def only a free, was outside the box) and would have meant no Lascelles for Newcastle for 3 games. And they'd be ****ed without him at the back. Want them to stay up.

Was really impressed by this catch from Karius from a corner.

United thread have a whole two days this time to try and keep it together.

City ,Spurs and Liverpool have same record over last 5 games, no losses between them all. United have lost 2 of last 5 though and are now within reach of Spurs too .

He’s just desperately clinging onto the prediction he made about us for this season. He’s an idiot who says idiotic things, in one ear and out the other stuff.

Poor decision, ref takes the easy option and didn't want the drama of actually doing his job.

Happy with those 3 points despite some complaining about the performance. Thought it was a very professional dominating performance. We need to be able to win these types of games which can be tricky and did with very little trouble.

**** him. He prevented a goal scoring opportunity for Salah, I want Salah to score as many goals as possible.

    Great win.

Karius is really starting to show his worth.

Some real quality goalkeeping & a world class save on Diame in the 1st half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

The fact it was no penalty makes it easier to accept. One in box with Salah was a penalty though. A soft pen, a freekick outside box, so a penalty in box.

19 points from 8 PL games of 2018
We don't seem to be going OTT on the geggenpressing carry on of late either. Things coming together nicely :)

Salah is looking like the signing of the decade, potential to be one of the best PL signings ever IMO.....kudos to all concerned for that one.

Good solid 3 points against a defensive set up.

Ground out a win whilst not playing 100%.

Feeling very confident now about top 4, especially if City get a result against Chelsea tomorrow.

2nd should definitely be our target now.

They're absolute dirt and I can't see it changing. It's a decent fit in some respects but they're a mess and is rather he looked to pastures new if needs be.

Maybe if they stay up someone will come back in with a bid.

Joint goals, but Salah far more assists and better minutes per goal

Gerrard asking Klopp about Salah on BT, why not just ask him in person.

Joint with Spursface but Salah has 8 assists, Kane has 2.

Referee Graham Scott has been lead official in just 28 PL games over two and half seasons.

Whatever about the ref not seeing it, he looks to his linesman who was just as clueless despite Salah and Lascelles being the only two players within a mile of the ball, not exactly a hard one to spot. The same linesman got at least 2 offside calls wrong in the game, one on Andy and the other on Gayle.

Robertson had 117 touches, more than any other player on the pitch. I still remember his first couple of games where nobody would even pass to him, especially Phil. :pac:

Dunno does buggering up our shape by going 3 at the back make sense as a defensive move.

He has done it a couple of times recently and I thought we looked all over the place at the back afterwards, a bit more practice with it might sort it.

Trent lost the ball a bit today, but I actually thought he was a lot better defensively than he usually is. He's rapid too and showed it a few times just sprinting back to nick the ball off Kenedy.

Klopp took two of Gerrard players into squad to train, told Gerrard on BT to go find another, not getting them back, they are WOW.

Well the viewers don't get to watch then..... I'm sure Klopp is 100% ok with Gerrard's questions and if he wasn't he'd handle it appropriately :)

Ox is always trying something unique when everyone else is passing side to side, he's making a huge difference.

Just watching Klopp in the post match interview. The players must feel so confident playing for him.
Just the way he talks them up and the way he very casually brushed aside being asked about Coutinho, talking about the dreams they have as part of Liverpool.

He really is a brilliant manager who builds so much confidence and attacking swerve through his teams. He's the perfect manager for us and I can't think of any other that is so suited to our club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Alex is so well spoken in interviews, after a hopefully trophy-laden career with us he’d do very well in punditry. He’d have to lose a few thousand brain cells to fit in with most of them though.

As important as Salah is Klopp is respecting his person goal of trying to win golden boot. Rarely takes him off, hope he's rested against Porto and ready for United.
