Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Munich & City are the two teams I wouldn't want in the QF's if we make it.

Munich can be beaten, i'd dread City even though we beat them at Anfield.

Real Madrid would be the side I'd not like to get drawn against, as stuttering as they have been they know how to win a CL tie one way or another.

Real can kill a tie with 20 mins of brilliance.

I'm thinking this too. I think they won't give us enough respect and will try to implement their style no matter what and give us space to play into. Pace will hurt them.

Obviously I'd prefer Roma or Shaktar or Sevilla, but out of the big boys, and I had to take one, I would pick Real Madrid. (Now that is also me being greedy as I think I have a ticket for the 1/4 final and I want a glamour tie, but hoping to avoid the English teams too)

I too would like to avoid Madrid for now. As much as I love our promising young right backs, I wouldn’t want Ronaldo anywhere near them yet. Even with his loss of pace he can still destroy a full-back. A fit Clyne is the only man for the job and he’s a long way off playing 90 minutes for us yet even if he returned this week.

I'm taking absolutely nothing for granted.

Minute 1, Karius gets sent off and they get a penalty.

    Then what?

If we get to half time at 0-0 or better than I'll start to ponder about who we get in the next round.

Then Migs comes on, saves the pen and we win 5-0.
    I don't understand the question...

No TV 3 are showing the PSG game.

EIR 2 and BT 3 have Liverpool.

Lemar and Jorginho signed in the space the space of three minutes. You’ll give ricero a heart attack lads!

Team to play Porto: Karius, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Mane, Firmino

Mignolet, Klavan, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ings, Salah

    Well, some.....! ;)

With Moreno in defence, Porto have a chance......

Wouldn’t be my choice. Hopefully it’s just a training exercise and we don’t pick up any silly injuries or cards!

TAA to come at 0-3 down and Gomez to left back!

Strong team, good. Gini must still be stuck on the toilet.
I take this as Ox is playing against United.

Yes, and Salah and van Dijk.

Surprised no Solanke on the bench. Hopefully Ings gets a good half hour or so as well, likely for Lallana who'll be wrecked after 60.

Seeing Moreno's name there has taken some of the excitement from tonight but sure...

Well obviously Salah and VVD are nailed on. The midfield three can be made up of any of Henderson, Can, Milner, Ox, Gini. I think for big games, if fit, Can and Henderson are Klopp's first choice with one of the other three taking the third spot.

Porto without their best left back, right back, centre mid, and winger tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

    Important to keep winning momentum.

Porto missing players so hopefully we are a goal up after 60 & bring off Firmino & Mane early.

I wouldn't put it past Moreno finding a way to Mastermind our exit from the tournament tonight

Really goes to show how light we are up top. I'm sure Klopp would much rather rest Firmino. In fact - it's kinda crazy to start him.

strong team thought ings would of maybe started

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Glad to see Klopp not stupid enough to risk Salah :)

Someone mentioned Robertson had a knock the other day please please tell me he'll be ok for Saturday, If Moreno starts that match we are doomed.

I don't miss the particular brand of excitement he brings.

Was really hoping to see one or two of the younger lads play tonight but Klopp is taking no chances with the attack he’s named., and with Moreno in the team, he’s dead right.

A shame not to see Solanke in the squad at the very least, and does anyone know what the craic is with Woodburn? Hasn’t made a first team squad in quite a while now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,404 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Would have preferred to see some youngsters play, but you gotta be careful in the CL.

    Anything can happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Hopefully Firmino and Mane don't break out of jogging pace tonight. No need to extend themselves.

I think he played with the U23s in the last week or two and got a goal also...

Don't forget he's restrcited to the CL squad so he can't just pick anybody.

The lads will be fine they're all fit and well able to handle two games in one week.

We do need another front player but Klopp did rotate a lot during the first half of the season. It's not like they've been out there doing 90 minute shifts every week, twice a week. In the league

Firmino - got taken off around 60/65 in a few games early on. Didn't start against Newcastle, Chelsea, Everton or Burnley and rarely finishes a game.

Mane - missed eight (nine really as he played a few minute against Chelsea) league games through injury and rotation early on

Salah - has played the most of the trio and is having an earned one tonight.

We also had ten days off recently. The lads should have no problem playing nearly every game from now until the end of the season.

I've seen a statistic earlier. Liverpool have won all 32 UEFA ties st home when they've won the first leg away.

That is staggering. I nearly want to check the accuracy of it myself. That's phenomenal. It really is.
