I find it hard to see now that this will leave 0.5cm, let alone 5cm

We are now losing the continental air feed and slowly back into the NWly mush. You just couldnt make it up ....

Because its only the beginning and not the end , because we were not really expecting it to hit till 10 or after , or it could just all go pear shaped , but the weather will do what the weather wants to do

Still snowing in Tullamore but looking more like wet snow and the flakes are tiny now. No covering from this I fear

Hopefully this is a sign of some heavier stuff coming for the east of the country later...

Can you see anything on that radar that suggests that anything will hit after 10pm?

I'm getting less optimistic now as I'm almost 40km west of Dublin and I've got so far is the tiniest of flurries which has left an equally tiny covering.

Light flurry again now but again, it's so light that I need a lampost to see it fall. It's unlikely that Dublin will get heavier precipitation that me (although it is possible) so unless I get a decent pickup in snow rates, I don't foresee much excitement for the capital.

I hope to be proven wrong :P

I was feeling confident even half an hour ago, but this front really is blowing out with nothing to stop the forward momentum, from looking at the Meteociel radar.

No more in Sligo Town, other than the earlier dusting on the grass and cars, and a bit slushy on higher ground (in town). Any more expected tonight?

The one that was telling me its snowing for the last hour and a half ?

I will stick to my window and lamppost , thank you very much

The radar can be very misleading.
We've had moderate wet snow falling in s cavan here since about 8.30, the heavier stuff before that on the radar had only a few light flakes falling.
    Lighter stuff falling now.
Approx 2cm on the car roof, probably under 1cm on the road.

0.1C now and snow sticking to all surfaces, on the hills north east of Kilkenny city.
