Game Day...8 more hours....is it too early for a beer?!?

It's half 7 in the evening in Sydney, so if they're allowed to drink I don't know why you shouldn't be able to.

It's pretty cold here in Paris. About three degrees currently and not expected to go over five. By kick off it will be back to around three again and there's also rain forecast, starting about midday.

Need to wrap up warm. but when has that not been necessary for six nations matches? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,375 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

The rain is particularly worrying for Parisiens because the Seine has risen quite alarmingly:

Ha! I expect Ireland to win.
Just commenting on the pressure Ireland will be under.
Is there a single major player missing from the squad? Heaslip is about the only one I can think of. There are literally no excuses for losing tomorrow if we consider ourselves a top 5 country.

Ruddock, SOB, Heaslip and Ringrose are all missing and would all be in the 23.

If we lose because France play really well then that’s an excuse. There are 2 teams out there, not just one. We’re rightly favourites, we should win, but if we don’t let’s wait to see why before passing judgement.

Had you posted that 10 mins earlier I could have said me.....

Being up early has given me a chance to enjoy the last Irish team victory in France. Leinster in Montpellier. Setting me up for the day. This kids business has its benefits.

Not sure where to put this but it tickled me earlier. Some of the choices for head facial expressions are gold. Can't find a non-facebook link, sadly.

    Finally the day is here

Bulling I'm working and will miss the Ireland game but Sofascore will keep me informed

We need to win the game badly, it's one of the most daunting away trips in Rugby but we have one of the most in depth squads we've ever had and were on a high

    Enjoy all chat later

Christ, this TV3 opening feels so heavily scripted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,920 ✭✭✭✭stephen_n

Feeling confident that we are going to give good performance today. The slight issue of only 3 wins in Paris since the year I was born, keeps the optimism in check, but really it’s hard to see past an Irish win, got a feeling it won’t be pretty though.

I get the impression that a half time team talk from ROG would take about 3 hours...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

Happy enough with Joe as a presenter, he seems a lot more in sync with his analysts than Daire who comes across as interrogative when questioning them. Other than that, the coverage is quite similar so far.

I'm happy with anyone as long as they are not Tom McGurk. The interviewers job is to ask intelligent and pertinent questions to elicit some relevant insight from the panel, then shut up and let them talk. McGurk was terrible at that, constantly interrupting with his next scripted question. Not quite Tubridy level of awfulness, but still pretty bad. Daire was a vast improvement on that.

Having said that, Joe Molloy is doing a good job so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,433 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

That is not what I thought Joe Molloy looked like.

    He's great so far though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Daire O'B was sh1te, a presenter should let the panel talk and express their views, he was constantly stating his own and challenging them to contradict him. Joe Molloy is better but he's a bit too laid back, like he's on valium or something.

Joanne Cantwell is the best sports presenter in Ireland. This may be hyperbole!

Joe Molly is brilliant on the radio and I reckon he will settle in soon enough.
I like Matt too. Feeling optimistic about the TV3 coverage this time, at least there is no Matt Cooper.

It isn't the anthem of all of our team.
