Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For all the people calling for more risks and more width. We need to grind out a win and if we are in a commanding lead with ten mins left THEN take the risks but not before.

Needless from Stander, don't do something like that unless you know you can pull it off.

Ryan is very good at rugby

We needed that turnover. Well done lads.

It was Henderson turned that over.

He had to touch it... temptation was too much.

I just don't know how you look at this French team playing and think that we need to take more risks. They will heavily punish us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

France so indisciplined. They give away such easy penalties right in front of the posts. It's just lazy most of the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,817 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Henderson and Ryan are going very well. Although we miss Toner in the maul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,544 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Luckily for us; France looked like they were asleep with that offside.

    12-3 to Ireland. Lovely. :D

Looks like Ireland are going for the "death by a thousand cuts" strategy

Come on Nigel. YC for persistent penalties

Usually how we beat France. France are all very good players and every one of them is working their socks off. We're much more comfortable, it's going to open up.

    The French are killing themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,854 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

France need to be punished for these basic silly stupid penalties.

French inexperience really coming through now. The game is their for us to finish off. Hopefully all this pressure will pay off shortly

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,013 ✭✭✭MattD

France need to get Vahaamina off if they want to avoid going a man down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,442 ✭✭✭its_phil

Kearneys ribs are going to be killing him tomorrow. About 4 big hits on him

This is really good from Ireland here. Keep up the phases lads.

They're very quick up in the line to defend, very physical at the breakdown, and if an attacker gets isolated even for a second it'll be easy turnover.

That's before you mention the fact that if they intercept something loose, some of their lads will take too many defenders to deal with successfully.

    Furlong !!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Dumb by murray. Had a chance to clear so clear it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Jack Kanoff

Now... Did you see that? Stander gets the ball...makes 3m and it takes 2-3 men to put him down every time...
it saps french energy...that's what he does..and does well... Furlong tried it..made no ground..and had the ball ripped from his grasp.... Stander does this so well and it's not always recognised

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

All came from a very poor play by Furlong.

I'm really trying not to get overly exuberant about James Ryan but that tackle was right out of O'Connell's performance against Australia one November a few years ago. Exceptional.

Three times we've had possession stripped up front.

    Furlong !!!!

He was fairly ripped. Could have done with support to protect him. Other than that he was fair game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

Both French penalties came after we were deep in their 22 and turned the ball over.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Don't want them within a score in the last 10 minutes. We are so pedestrian and easy to read in their 22 like against wales last year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,186 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Murray has many strengths but the speed of passing sometimes gives defences far too much time.

Nice invention to get going forward. Then a couple of phases of one out runners and then a telegraphed loop play.

He's getting through truckloads. And for people saying he's one dimensional, he passed 3 times in the first half, our 7 didn't pass once in his time on the pitch

Did I hear that Ireland have had 72% possession and 75% territory by Dave McIntyre!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

I cant help but feel we are one mistake away from losing this. The French dont seem to be fading at all but rather growing in confidence and energy. One spark is all they need to explode.

That's a big penalty to win, and at a crucial time. Well done CJ

This game would be perfectly set up for Zebo to come on off the bench now.
