Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One of the major causes for concern is the fact there is no battons issued as part of your PPE ( except on external escorts)
If you were unfortunate enough to find your self in a situation where you were confronted by a prisoner with a (shive) make shift weapon.
How do staff deal with such a situation with out having a batton to defend your self ?
    Maybe wexfjord might explain

Run. You'll get relevant training on appropriate use of force but if they want to cut you, chances are you'll not see it coming so a baton is irrelevant. Such incidents are thankfully rare.

Afternoon.people on this should not be peeing u off as u would know best as u are already their and I am sure u know buy some people on this tread has no chance of ever being good at this jib .they might fluke it and get in and people like u will have to babbysit them.so before u go in the next few years do u think they will up the retirement age beyond 60.thanks for reply before I get it

Who are you to tell people what they can and can't say? Are you making the rules of boards all of a sudden.

Fluke and get in:) if you're in anyway a coward and looking for your friend to hold your hand in there and can't stand up for yourself. I'll make this easy, it's not for you.

Everything about this job is on the internet. So if you think there's some sort of guru on this boards page that's gonna give you special information you're wrong.

P.s A man that can't stand up for himself, stand for nothing.

If you look back at previous posts other people are saying it was two weeks after their interview when they received there results. So it may not be this week when results are out, might be worth keeping an open mind on it.

if U had to work at 60 after u retire what would u do?
You can always upskill during your career, plenty of retirees go into security/consultancy but it's really down to skills and preference. You could revert to your current career?

Yeah you have to be there at 8:15 because you have a Report writing exercise and a group work exercise, after that you can leave and go back for your interview. All that information together with what you have to bring will be sent to your public jobs message board.

  • Registered Users Posts: 151 ✭✭Paddy 42

I just want to say a huge congratulations and well done to all who have received good news today.
To those of you who did not proceed to the next stage I know you will be disappointed I know what it feels like to experience both.
So I would say if it's what you want don't give up just see this as a bump in the road.

  • Registered Users Posts: 105 ✭✭Gmanno1

Well done everybody, where did everyone place? Be good to get an idea of numbers for the next stage? I was 148.

I know the first 50 will be taken to the ipsc first.

Wonder how long the next class will take, anyone have any ideas?

Good to get some sort of time line going.

    Thanks

Disappointing news I did not pass stage 3, by a very tiny margin. However I am determined to apply again. Does anyone know will there be another recruitment opening in oncoming months???

Congratulations to those to have passed. To those in the same position as me hopefully we will get another chance 🙂

    Sorry to hear that,

This is my third try at the public appointment service, but this is also the first time I took the recruitment campaign serious and gave my self time to prepare and study for it.

    Defo do it again.

Yeah it was disappointing. That's great you were more prepared and studied for it. I did take it serious but now I have insight into what let me down in the interview, was just a few marks off. I will be better prepared next time. Its very doable to pass it next time.

You should 100% go for it again. I had done one other PAS Recruit and flopped on my face. Even just knowing what to expect in the interview Board room is a huge help when you go again. Don't give up and don't let this bump in the road hold yopu back the next time it opens up.

I don't think there's any policy set out, I'd imagine you'll be fine as long as none on neck/face or hands.

I think you’re alright once it’s not above the collar. I have one on my finger and have been successful in getting through the interview stage.

I got the results for stage 3 5th july and got invitation for medical and audiogram six days later. The medical only took 15 mins in and out, height, weight quick listen to breathing then a quick eye vision test. The audio is just a standard audio test your put in the box with headphones and press the button whenever you hear the beep sound.
