On the bright side we will/should hockey both these sides. Of course both will raise their game for us.

Scotland look desperate to score off the current phase each and every time..

I can't see from here but it's that George Clancy reffing?

Whoever it is is riding Scotland.

    Refs fine.

Scotland have only themselves to blame for this abject preformance

    The ref is not fine

Not that it would make a jot of difference mind you

No try from Wales this time. Correct decision?

I reckon Scotland could be a bit of a dark horse this year....

How no clear grounding? Difficult to see yes, but you could see it was down on the line.

Seems if they froze and zoomed the space between the leg and arm they would have seen it.

Yes. Question was 'Try: Yes/No?'. No clear try so no try.

Jaysus all the talk about Scotland and they have got hammered by a fairly averagewelsh side

Grounding could be seen. Was difficult to see but it could be seen. Wrong decision.

Why does the TMO have to watch these videos in isolation?

As in, why don’t they have a 2x2 grid of videos that are automatically and accurately synced, so if one view shows a good grounding but not where the line is, the other synced view might be able to show where they were in relation to the line at that exact moment.

That interception summed up Scotland's day.

    What a finish. Sublime skills.

    Forward pass but super finish.

    Some hammering.

Great stuff! Would've left a bitter taste in the mouth to have been denied the bonus point for the earlier dodgy decision.

Great textbook try from Wales. It's game over now for Scotland.

Scotland are Appalling. Bereft of ideas. (1/2 penny a kicking machine. )

    What's wrong with Scotland

didnt expect this scoreline, thought it would be Scotland hammering Wales not the other way around

So...Warren Gatland...still life in the old dog yet.

My MOTM is Rhys Patchell, although Shingler has been good too.

Must be depressing being a Scottish rugby fan.

Look at it again when they show it after the match. Grounding could be seen ON the line. On the line = try (doesn't have to be over the try line).

Scotland to win by 5-10. Home advantage is big for Wales, but I just feel this Scottish side are on the up.

I'll just be over here, in case anyone needs me.

Well at least they didn't end up scoreless

Well that was a steaming pile of crap (with some Welsh glitter)

  • Registered Users Posts: 870 ✭✭✭FCIM

Bit of consolation for Scotland. This will sting enough without them being nilled. Get the feeling two sides devoid of confidence after unhealthy results will be on show in Murrayfield next week.

Gives us something to focus on too and not get too carried away as Ireland and England aren't going to play as loose, cough up as many chances and play with no defence so hopefully the conceded try will keep the players on their toes.

Scotland. The reigning 5 Nations Champions since 1999, and counting.

Scotland were nothing short of a disgrace today. It took 77 minutes for them to build 8 phases. At this level that’s just so far off the required standard it’s not even funny. Their defensive set up saw them standing off the Welsh way too much. Their set piece was a joke. You can’t go away from home to anyone and just hand the ball back to them time after time and expect anything other than a serious beating.

What have we really learned about Wales from this? When they’re handed the game they’ll take it? When they aren’t put under any pressure they’ll be comfortable?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,631 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

Scotland couldn't have beaten an egg the way they played today. Very disappointing. Wales took most of their chances well, but its easy when your opposition keep dropping the ball, can't win their own lineout, can't find touch from penalties, don't even chase their own kicks...

To be fair I can't knock wales today, but Scotland made it so easy for them today.... Our local second would have put in a less error price performance. The open nature of the game suited Wales better.
