Bandylegs takes a long, long look at his friends. He takes off his Water Walking Ring and throws it to Kyokuma.

'Here samurai. I ne'er got to use it sadly. Hopefully you will find the time to do so.'

He hugs Ash.

'Farewell lass. The others will look after ye now.'

He looks at Kim.

'That recommendation has already been given. Ye will be the next governor o'Zassan.'

He looks at Goodie next.

'My Halfling friend. Ye already have my prized possession. Wear it well, it suits ye better than me. I truly hope we have repaired our once strong friendship.'

And finally to Ekbard.

'And to ye, me oldest friend. Ne'er forget that I killed ye. The geasa scroll, the possessions in me backpack... (sighs) and this.'

He hands Axel to Ekbard.

'Ye have struck up an accord and I hope he serves ye well.'

He steps forward to the cultist leader, arms outstretched.

'I will be yer sacrifice.'

One final look at the group.

'I have cherished every moment I spent with ye. But it is now time fer me to meet me destiny. Remember me not fer me faults, but fer the fun and adventures we had together....

It is time.'

Bandylegs climbs onto the slab.

He releases the power of his God within him into the air.

Zha'satep raises the dagger, ornate and beautiful.

He plunges the dagger into BandyLegs's heart.

Outside, all throughout the great desert crowds stand out in the streets and markets, in their homesteads they look from their windows. The storms die down.

Zha'satep cries.

"At last"

He closes BandyLegs's eyes.

"Wonderful work dwarf......I did not deserve you"

Zha'satep steps over intrigued.

She looks dumbfounded.

"But I've never been that faithful to Vergadain....."

She begins her flight, but BandyLegs's body begins to glow.

She rears in mid air in fright, flinging the body which halts in mid air. A gigantic blast fills the air.

Ekbard is unharmed. In the midst of the light he sees a golden figure. Beard as red as the flames of a star.

'Thankee fer tryin' my friend. But it was meant ter be this way. I have fulfilled me destiny and ascended to me seat... as Vergedain's equal. No longer his humble servant.

Sadly, I must go. Watch over Ash, she will be my word as head cleric o'the new McGillicuddy dwarven God of Vengeance and Protector o'the weak. Watch over the others too.

Ye were always me closest friend, even when we were miles apart. Look after yerself. And kill that dragon hunter fer me in Dwacatra.
