Hi all, at our office up in Parkmore, 8 of us have an arrangement where we all pay into a pool to buy ingredients (the usual exciting stuff like bread, ham, cheese, salads etc) for making lunch every week.

It's getting to the point where it's a bit of an ask for one person to buy all the ingredients, so we're looking to find out if there's any service that would deliver. Tesco apparently don't do delivery to business addresses, Supervalu is a little on the pricey side, Aldi & Lidl don't do delivery at all... are there any other options that people would be familiar with? Do Dunnes deliver?

Dunnes so deliver, tho they don't seem to be as flexible as Tesco. Worth a look in your situation tho.

Dunnes deliver - but I think only things that you have gone to the shop and taken off the shelf yourself. And they're as dear as SuperValu.

    Doughiska is closer still.
Would the Spar outside the estate be open to some sort of arrangement? No harm in asking the manager.

Thanks for all suggestions, will check out Joyces for sure. Dunnes probably a little over our budget - maybe we're too tight!

Wonder there is no Lunchbox equivalent here: https://thelunchbox.me/

They might have that kind of thing in the UK but I doubt it would exist outside Dublin here. You have to accept the market in Ireland is so small (< 5 mil) by comparison (55 mil in ZA) you just can't expect the same level of services. The mentality here is sure we're lucky you're here to be giving our money to. Hence customer service is laughable compared to proper countries with markets big enough to have real competition. So lower your expectations and then lower them a few more times and once the weather crushes your soul lower them again then you'll be where the rest of us are.

When I used to work close to the City Centre and out in Mervue Ind. Est., Hynes Mace Shop on Forster St used to provide this exact service.
Not sure how far he would deliver but worth a call.

If it's so problematic to source lunch ingredients by delivery and supermarkets like Dunnes are too expensive (have you considered their "my family favorite" range which is really cheap?) then surely you should all consider making your own lunches at home and bring them in?

Joyces, if Tesco won't? Possibly. Also, would it not be easier to just take turns buying the ingredients? If their are 8 people, it means you only have to go to the shop and pick up the goods once every 8 weeks.

Hughes Supervalu in Claregalway had a big ad/article in the Galway Advertiser yesterday for their new delivery service. Said they would be delivering to Galway City so Parkmore should definitely be covered.

I work in Galway Technology Park (beside parkmore) and see Tesco delivery van delivering to offices regularly on Monday mornings
