Great steal from Leavy, great from Aki and good finish from Earls

    Leavy great at the breakdown

That last bunch of phases at the Italian line was a bit wasteful, not in terms of points, but there's no point in putting so much physicality into attacking the Italians, a score will come eventually, and we don't need the injuries.

Earls nabs our BP. Nice. Very nice.

shame aki didn't stay in nz. could have been useful.

Aki has been superb at keeping the ball in 2 hands and waiting for the defence to commit.

Don’t want to put a damper on the game so far but if Furlong has a hamstring injury he’s likely to miss at least a month.Great kick from Sexton there.

What's our biggest margin on Italy?

Have to hope he just felt it and decided to be safe. Porter is an interesting proposition though

Furlong defo pulled up so its rosary bead time

I'm not really sure what to say, as there's nothing really to be said. Ireland will want to maximise points difference.

Italy play Georgia in Autumn I think.

Christ 3player is awful for watching this game. I've missed two tries already from it jumping back and catching it self up randomly. Then ads any time I pause to let it buffer and miss more again..

What was Murray laughing at as he ran in for his try?

It looked like he was goading the Italian full back. Bad form if that's what it was.

For sure. Various grades to hamstring injuries so let's hope it's a tweak rather than anything else

I think he looked around realised he had the try in the bag and was delighted and smiled

Great to get the BP before HT, but we really learn nothing from this game in isolation, unfortunately. Will we play this way against anyone else?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,569 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

My first half analysis on this game for Ireland.

Sexton's conversions have been terrific so far. 4 out of 4 is great.

Furlong being out with the injury in the first quarter was terrible.

Aki has done very well out on the field today including scoring his first try for Ireland.

Henshaw has played really well with him having more involvement in the team. Him scoring the first try was nice & clever play in the first few minutes.

Good Lord. Is he not allowed smile while running in for a try?

Who else gives opposition sides this kind of space or time?

We don't need huge amounts of space and time to try some of the things we are doing today.
