    By looking at it the wrong way - electronics were unreliable junk until the late 1990s as a whole and any delusion that 'things aren't built to last these days' is 100% down to survival bias and nothing else - old electronics were junk compared to anything modern. Even Aldi/Lidl kit these days is better than high end kit in the past.

    Holding magnets up to the screen to make the colours go funny. You hold them there long enough and the colours don't go back to normal.
