Amazing the way cars close to the accident just indicate and go around rather than getting out and checking to see if the occupants are ok.

It's a motorway. You would need to be stone mad to get out of your car to check someone as long as traffic is still moving.

I'm sorry, what? Please tell me that that's not true? For the love of potatoes tell me that that's just a load of old horse poop.......

It's not is it? See, this is just another fine example of why I loathe our goddamn species..............
    Unfortunately, it is....
    https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2011/10/18/did_chinese_laws_keep_strangers_from_helping_toddler_hit_by_truck.html

In 2006, a Nanjing man who escorted an elderly woman to the hospital after she broke her leg was ordered to pay 40 per cent of the woman’s medical bill. The rationale: It was inconceivable that the man would go to such lengths to help the woman if he wasn’t somehow responsible for her injury.
When things like this happen, everyone now looks the other way.

There are places where if you try to help someone who’s had a heart attack by giving CPR, and you don’t save them, you can and will be held liable, so there’s a tendency to just not get involved in such situations.

On one hand it's almost reassuring to see that sheer stupidity and ignorance is a general human characteristic and not exclusive to certain parts of the world. On the other hand, that very same thing is f*cking depressing and pathetic on us as a species.

How's about making some contributions yourself then? Other than complaining that is, which really struggle to be defined in any way as a contribution whatsoever...

Btw would love a copy of the rule book that states that it should be Irish videos only.

Absolutely, I would love to post some gopro footage. I have quite a few of them. BUT don't you dare to post dashcam footage that was taken on a motorcycle instead of the same cam inside the car because that makes such a massive difference as to where the footage was taken, stuck on a bike or stuck inside the car. What a joke. I can't post for the single reason that it wasn't taken from the inside the car even thought it still shows exactly the same bad driving because **** logic. Used to be times where you could but some power tripping mod, who hates motorcycles banned posting of footage of anything not taken from the inside of the car. The section is not CARS, it's MOTORS. Last time I checked, motorcycles had a motor inside them.

i think non car videos are excluded to save us the perpetual arguments that ensue with non-dash mounted videos.

If you feel that way, why not start a thread somewhere for "Motorbike mounted" video camera footage.

Hay! Stop making puns out of my clip :P

I'd only met the tractor on the same road so it had just happened. Seems it wasn't tied properly, more than likely with a "sure it'll be grand" attitude. Imagine it fell off in front of a car behind, or on a pedestrian walking, all over some lazy farmer

You can't see it but I rolled the bale into the ditch so anyone approaching with a car had a good chance to get by

I used to think like that, but since the warm weather arrived, I’ve decided to become an ex tractor fan.

Presumably. The alternatives are just too head wrecking to contemplate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,795 ✭✭✭Isambard

  • Registered Users Posts: 305 ✭✭lovelyhurler

Had to watch that at least four times before I realised fully what was going on.
Hint: Just follow the shadows on the road/back of the truck
