On the quays where you have to filter into one lane. Normally works but someone didn't want this micra getting in! I probably should have been let in myself afterwards by the next car but he wasn't having it either.

Micra did not use indicators. And did not flash them for the Golf either.

    Were you using the indicator?

Not sure if the link above will work. If I had of been 1 second faster this lad would have been lying over my bonnet.

Yeah, agree Micra didn't use indicators. But in all fairness, when the driver was stopped there for a while queueing up to the filter arrow, it's not like the other driver didn't know very well that the micra was intending to turn in.
Yes, I indicated. But as I said, it's blatantly obvious at that merge to everyone regardless as it's so slow.

Not using an indicator doesn't justify purposely preventing a merge. It's obvious enough from their position and the lane marker that they're trying to move over. I read somewhere that the car in front on a merge has right of way but can't find anything. It would make sense though.

No road user is more important than anyone else. If they were they'd have sirens on. I understand the Polo has right of way in the lane but the entitlement annoys me. The lane requires a car to merge, it shouldn't be down to one selfish motorist to decide otherwise. In saying that, the Micra was a bit pushy too.

Moron ignoring a merge in turn where you're supposed to merge in turn.

Very feckin close call for me and the family this morning.
Going from the old Dublin / Julianstown road towards Balbriggan.

They ignored the "STOP" signs on their side and didn't look when joining a main road.

Lucky I had the hard shoulder to move to.

I'd love to hear what excuse they would have come up with had they hit you!

Especially since this was their view of 2 stop signs, a stop warning painted on the road and a stop line, while joining another road.

Glad nobody was hurt. I'd report that if you have the reg.

They'll end up killing somebody driving like that

    I have the full reg.
I stopped to the left and rolled down the window, they stopped alongside and apologised. Some middle aged bloke, looked like his auld fella in the passenger seat and someone in the back.
I said I'd see them in court and told them I had the dashcam... but performing a civic duty to report them is a lot of hassle...

    181 MH reg

Traffic watch is your best bet to get interest from the guards in this case.

Think of it this way, If you see that vehicle mangled into another car on the news next week and you recognize that reg and hadn't reported him, How would you feel then?

I'm not having a go OP but really this should be reported before someone gets killed.

If he drove like that all the time, he'd have already crashed.

I'd just let it go, no need to chase it down. I'm sure all of you drive like calculating machines and never made any blunder.

In fairness that's what the penalty points system is for.
You can have a couple of those "blunders" at 5 points each, but when they add up to > 12 over 3 years then it needs addressing.

Only slight mitigating factor I will give them is a D reg in Meath and that's an odd "roundabout" with a stop sign on an exit.

I understand and I'm not trying to start an argument here.

If the OP wants, they are well within their rights to chase this down.

But my reasoning would be. He understood he made a mistake, probably crapped his pants too. You have to be a maniac to deliberately charge at another car like that, so obviously, either he was not paying attention, or whatever it was.

He was no confrontational, immediately apologized and realized his mistake. Most likely learned his lesson, there was no damage done to either car, the OP did not hit the curb or anything.

    Just let it go.

    I would let it go.
If he had stopped and try to pick a fight, i would try my best to screw him over

Yes it's highly unusual to have a stop sign on a roundabout, bad road design.
