It's been great so far. Clarkson is a natural for this. Safe to say this will fully rehabilitate him for UK network TV as well.

What happens if Jeremy gives the wrong answer and the contestant gets thrown off? Now that would be interesting to watch

I definitely wouldn't have guessed Berlin if I was there. A bare inkling as I've heard of it before but wouldn't be sure. A world war 2 thing I presume?

No , Cold War , a point where people could cross from West to East/ East to West Berlin . Up to 1989 it still existed in Berlin .

Nope Cold War, it was the official crossing point between East and West Berlin from 1947 until 1989

There is no way the piano was that recent, therefore the artist is the obvious answer -not that I would have got it with all 4 available.

No point posting easily googled answers, not sure why people bother their hole. I like to see the reasoning behind the selection.

Thought this was a "Very" famous painting

Aww, I would have guessed Beret as well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,340 ✭✭✭deco nate

I would have lost on that last question, thought it was thorax:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 614 ✭✭✭TheQuietBeatle

Slightly tougher questions than the old show for under 1K (although last guy's questions were easy).

The irony being he described the painting perfectly, but thought it had a different title.

To be fair to him, he also pointed out for the money involved the French name connection might be too obvious.

I didnt like that policeman woman much - the accent and the waaay sheeee accentuated each word and voweeeeel like that - so irritating so she was

Yeah she had notions too. If you go into that seat thinking your going to win big and start gambling will nilly while you have lifelines, you'd want to be VERY lucky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,879 ✭✭✭✭Andy From Sligo

I in no way blame clarkeson for that cock up with the policewoman - she was greedy, she didnt know the answer so she shouldnt have gambled - greed thats what it was .. could have walked away with 8 grand .... did she even have the slightest inkling what the answer was I think not - then all blame has to be on her stupidity of gambling not on clarkeson for not convincing her to go for bowler hat

LOL @ Policeman-woman. "None of my friends would know the answer, so I'll ask Jeremy Clarkson an Art question instead".

Some of the players have really been silly with how they use their life lines. A guy last night I think asked the audience for a Transformers question, something I'm sure Jezza would know. And another used him to ask about Cilantro, something he didn't know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,879 ✭✭✭✭Andy From Sligo

I am pretty sure now policeman-woman will get her revenge now on clarkeson - book him for doing 31mph in a 30mph zone one day for loosing her 7 grand :D

100 pound question was about crime (or a well known saying about crime)... really - not fixed no? - no, most probably coincidence wasnt it?

Oh I agree some of them have been terrible but tonight's sow was better with better contestants. I can not believe your man did not know the insect question. Head, Thorax, Abdomen are the three main parts. Such a waste of a lifeline. What the hell would an insect need with an appendix? That's something you should have learnt in science class.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Fair to say that a regular series will be commissioned - going by the Digital Spy forums, the first episode had an audience of 5m, it slipped to 4m on Sunday, but stabilised at that level yesterday.

just wondering if it were to come back regularly if Philip Scholfield (the cube, ITV this Morning, british soap awards host etc) might be better as host. I think he could do deadpan when needed but also show a bit of excitement when someone does well instead of having the monotone voice of clarkson ?

Disappointing that this isn't on the TV3 player.

As mentioned on a previous page, probably a rights issue with ITV.
