Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

[Male] What colour trousers to match with this shirt?

Me: Male, 40, tall, red hair.

I bought this shirt without putting in too much thought.

Now I am wondering what colour trousers to wear with it.
I have a pair of black trousers, but I always feel that it is a very stark colour, so I rarely wear them. My work is somewhere between smart casual and smart. Most days I wear trousers and formal shirt, occasionally I wear a suit.

    Any ideas?

    Dark teal or petrol blue?

A lighter grey I would think, Next would have a decent range of those too.

Second this. Light grey or maybe sandy colour chinos

Thanks for the quick responses. I have grey trousers (also from Next!), but they are very close in colour to the shirt and it just looks like a wall of grey, so I guess I need to go significantly lighter?

I am pale skinned, so I tend to stay away from light grey trousers, as light colours can make me look washed out.

I wouldn't be worried about trouser colour 'washing you out' - light grey would provide a good contrast to the darker colour that's closer to your face.

Those trousers look fair enough way from the shirt colour to work. Don't worry too much about light colours washing you out if you're talking about trousers- they're far enough away from visible skin to not be too influential.

What do you think of navy chinos with this colour shirt?

I wouldn't put navy with it - black or most shades of grey would work well. Navy is a different colour family so won't work imo.

Most if not all trousers will go with that shirt, some more than others, but none will not suit. Or none that wouldn't be odd regardless of the shirt.
