Yeah - I don’t know. A friend is doing the half and her slowest time will be about 3 hours so I was trying to work out where I’d passing her based on me doing a 4:10 pace and reckon will be somewhere round mile 17 at turners cross. I’d say I could be passing a lot of the slower ones but they should be spread out a small bit by the time I get there and feels good to be passing people anyway!!

My maths say you won’t see her at all. Enjoy.

If there’s only 400m to go from there, it doesn’t look like the greatest ever finish, does it? Where’s the bridge? Where’s the crowd? With all respect, can’t see that landscape being packed with screaming souls.;)

Did you seriously do the maths?

It was pretty good last year actually. There were people at the barriers all round there and all down Patrick Street. It’s not as good as Limerick was though, having been there a month ago,

Starting the race with a target of sub 1:40 but not sure how it goes so be nice to get a fastest time this year (1:42:49 from Ballybunion in March) anyways.

Well not that seriously, but sounds like you are running at faster pace, getting to halfway a few mins before your friend, accelerating away. What am I missing?

Your post came up on my email MurphD - not offended in the slightest. Amused that you had worked it out. Must do my sums again tomorrow :-)

    Runners work it out. ;)

Edit: I worked it out wrong - thought the half was starting later than it actually is! Never mind.

Best of luck tomorrow everyone. Have a great day.

Good luck to all participants. It always bemuses me that a 10k fun run in Dublin gets all the media coverage on the day though. Maybe that’s just an RTÉ thing though.....

No worries. Haven’t had time yet to sit down and redo my sums :)

Its the most popular running event in the country, of course it will get tons of media attention.

Helping a half person today on Mardyke walk. Taken away in an ambulance. Hope he was ok. Looks like he drank too much from what he said. Seeing him trying to run with his legs but still lying on his back was crazy. Glad medical came when they did.

Twas a tough marathon for me today. Not sure was it the weather or just one of those days. Found it very humid and when I came out of Jack lunch tunnel I knew it was going to be a struggle. The small climb killed me ..mile 18 and the legs were gone . Got home in 3:43 which I was happy enough with.

Hope all went fine for all.

I actually felt for the full marathon runners today. I did the half and I found it tough, jaysus the course from Ballyphehane to Model Farm road was challenging.

Personally I also prefer the finish up the north quays and over the bridge onto Patrick's St.

Unreal buzz out at the Lough today, it was hopping in the sunshine.

I found pacing a bit tricky today because the mile markers were a bit uneven. The average pace on my watch kept slowing down steadily from mile 10 onwards and yet we kept getting ahead of time.

A lot of runners seemed to have a hard time due to the humidity.

Still, we got the job done and in actual fact I really enjoyed the run.

A hiccup or two but some good performances from the Harriers!

Thanks to the 3 hour pacers - particularly Ken I think it was who did the first 1/2 or 2/3rds, admittedly the easier section.
The 30 or 40 seconds we made up was badly needed at the end!

Really enjoyed the half today, felt good and managed to get a new PB by over 2 minutes. Well done to all the full marathon today, looked tough in the heat.
