WWE announced today that they and Rich Swann have agreed to part ways…

Rich Swann and WWE have mutually agreed to part ways as of today, February 15, 2018. WWE wishes Swann the best in all of his future endeavors.

Swann was suspended back in December following a domestic issue with his wife. In January, charges were dropped by the prosecutor’s office due to “insufficient evidence.”

I dont know the full story but its a tough break for him, just when he was being pushed.

What's Mitch Goose doing in the Impact Zone?

Surprised they released him after the charges were dropped.

"Mutually agreed" isn't standard WWE phraseology. I wonder if he wasn't happy with how WWE handled it so asked for his release? It makes it sound like he was as happy to leave as they were to let him go.

They probably weren't too hot on him beforehand, in January Steph and H publicly said if convicted he's out the door immediately (as opposed to saying nothing or letting the law do their work)
“We are just waiting on the legal,” the 14-time WWE Champion told us during the Television Critics Association press tour. “We have a zero tolerance policy on that, as you’ve well seen. So he’s suspended until it is determined legally one way or the other.”

“And if he’s convicted, he will be released,” Triple H’s wife and WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon added, meaning that he will be dropped by the company.

“Immediately,” her husband Triple H chimed back in.

On a side note, PW Insider misused the word "dismissed" (it went to court and verdict came back in his favour) rather than "dropped" (it didn't go to court) as they didn't have enough evidence to go forward with it.

FYI he was arrested in December for battery & kidnapping (false imprisonment) charges, for forcing his wife back into the car after a heated argument stemming from critiquing her wrestling match.

Yes, they were 'dropped' as in the case never went to court. It's not a "true A+" ending as it's says "we can't go forward with prosecuting you" rather than finding you innocent, if that makes sense. It feels like WWE treated it as "you're not legally guilty but that's not good enough"...

Yup. The legal outcome didn't satisfy them.
Don't buy the mutual aspect too.

Not surprised. Oul Stepho doesn't want the same hassle her mother got in her quest to become bigger than wrestling.

He has just turned 27 so has many years left in wrestling. Obviously WWE is where the big money is at so question is in a few years time will WWE not care about this and bring him back ( as time has passed)? Or is he essentially done forever with the company or Blackballed?

Logically tho he is most probably done. Not like he was a big star that they would over look. Ie, Austin with hitting Debra.

Maybe he gets lucky and goes to Japan and makes some money? But it would be a weird situation. Being 27 having wrestled for the biggest company in the world, didn't really get established as a star and the future of returning looks slim.

    Ouch.

Ah the door's not closed at all, he'll just need to do indies and that for a couple years. I don't think 'escaping' dropped charges will be very hard, especially since officially it was a "mutual" partings. The hard part is becoming valuable enough as a wrestler that WWE want to hire you again!

Don't seem to have any kind of tolerance anymore for that kind of press any more so I doubt he'll be back.

Time heals for let's say a racist Hogan but a cruiserweight having a domestic that got out of control is another story. Their hypocrisy is absurd.
