Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Still no odds up on PP, two days before games.

Up in a few other places, Cabo, Pats & Bray all huge prices.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,959 ✭✭✭diusmr8a504cvk

Yeah odds eventually went up. Would jump all over Bray, Pat’s to draw maybe.

    Edit:
    I took Bray and Rovers @ 3.5 and Bray to win 1-0 @ 7/1.

Back after the summer break. Turmoil in the last couple of days with Limerick losing 4 players, we were going to tip Bray up but now it's come to light all of the Bray players may be free agents come 10pm tonight along with all of the Limerick players. An avoid game now.

    St Pats 0 (Asian) or DNB @ 1.80 (General) - Small/Medium Stake
    Cabinteely 0 (Asian) or DNB @ 2.10 (Bet365) - Small Stake

Bray just can't seem to get their act together. Is it still a issue from the owner overspending last year? Link to team news?

I was looking at this game for an unders bet but decided yesterday to avoid it.

A bad week last week with 2 losses from 2 - hopefully get back on track this week with our 3 bets. Waterford far too superior to Bohs on paper, solid at home too. Galway with a new manager hosting the whipping boys of the 1st Div. Derry need to get back on track against a Limerick side in turmoil of the pitch and players recently leaving.

Waterford -0.5 (Asian) or Win @ 1.75 (General) - Medium Stake
    Galway -2.25 (Asian) @ 1.70 (Bet365) - Small/Medium Stake
    Derry -1 (Asian) @ 1.75 (Bet365) - Small Stake

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,959 ✭✭✭diusmr8a504cvk

I think UCD/Shels BTTS @ 8/13 wouldn’t be a bad one to throw into an accumulator.
I’d have Derry and Dundalk nailed on to win myself.

Even with the 1st Division top goalscorer George Kelly moving from UCD to Dundalk on Monday? Not a bet for me given that circumstance.

Waterford -0.5 (Asian) or Win @ 1.75 (General) - Medium Stake
    Galway -2.25 (Asian) @ 1.70 (Bet365) - Small/Medium Stake
    Derry -1 (Asian) @ 1.75 (Bet365) - Small Stake

Mixed bag... Loss, Win & Refund. Hard to get a break lately - teams very inconsistent and the European games coming up will throw things off even more.

Just one bet this week with the teams in Europe's games being moved so limited Premier games. Top -v- second bottom in the First Division. UCD didn't look excellent against Shelbourne last Friday but they should have enough for a poor Wexford side. 9 Wexford first teamers played in Dublin on Monday against St. Pats in the LSC, shouldn't effect them here unless an injury or two was picked up.

    UCD -1.25 (Asian) @ 1.80 (Bet365) - Small Stake

Stuck a little treble of Bohemians, UCD -1, and Longford. 7/1.

Two small bets this week. Bray players been paid finally but lost their manager midweek, no way Bohs are a 1/7 shot against anyone though. Waterford host Rovers on Sunday at 3pm, Rovers just had a tough 120 mins against AIK in the Europa league. A 6 pointer of a game which could see Waterford move 10 points clear of Rovers in 3rd spot (Europe). Other games worth keeping an eye on inplay, St. Pats hanidcap & UCD DNB or 0 (Asian)

    Bray +2 (Asian) @ 1.90 (Bet365) - Small Stake
    Waterford DNB or 0 (Asian) @ 2.00 (Bet365) - Small Stake

Wait for inplay stats (Bet365, WilliamHill) and if Pats are dominating they may be worth a bet inplay on a -1 Asian handicap or similar.

Nope - odds crushed it seems. They were 2.00 at time of posting, down to 1.80 at best now. Looking at Oddsportal.com odds came in on the Asians not long after I posted.

Why are Finn harps almost 23/10 to beat shelburne tonight?
They're above them in the table, on a good run , won the last three in a row. Shelburne have only won one of the past four games.

Finn harps are at home too.

Big price tbh, we're missing James English and Lorcan Fitz again - two big missing pieces to our starting XI.

Could have cashed out for profit given out the odds/lines changed on both bets... hindsight is great.

I'm away on holidays the next two Fridays so may not get a chance to post the bets up - one of the other lads I pick bets with will be posting them into the Facebook group. If anyone whos in there wants to C&P it in here that would be sound!

    Gav's bets....

    **League of Ireland Bets**
Poor week last week. Bray looked good on paper but got turned over badly, and Waterford missed a lot of chances against Rovers to add to our woes.

One bet this week to try get back on track in what is a tough week for selections.
    Bet: Dundalk v Bohs (SUNDAY)
Bohs big result last week has held this line to a decent price and we fancy Dundalk to comfortably take 3 points.

    Dundalk -1.5 Asian Handicap (1.875)

    *******************
We had also discussed UCD on the handicap but the line of -2.5 was just a bit too big for us. Preferably -2. Worth keeping an eye on for inplay.

    ***League of Ireland Bets***
Nice winner last week now onto this week. Quite a tricky week but going with two small staked bets for tonight
    Shels -1.25 4/5 365 - SMALL STAKE
Shels coming off the back of a impressive 6-1 win against a decent longford team. They've signed to premier div players from Bohs Moore & Kavanagh in this window. Moore scored a hattrick on his debut last week & kavanagh will probably start also tonight. Shels seem much improved recently & we expect them to win by a couple here

    Cork Win 5/6 boyles/laddies - SMALL STAKE
Basically a must win game for Cork like all of their games to keep their title race with Dundalk going. One bad result & the league could be gone. Cork also playing very well as of late. Waterford on the other hand are in a bit of a slump & are coming off the back of a loss to relegation candidates Limerick. The hype has died down a bit with Waterford & we expect Cork to close this game out fine

Bohs, City, Pats over 2.5 and over 2.5 in Derry game at 7.43/1 for interest tonight.

    2-1 in Derry

Hopefully we can continue the good picks and make it 3 weeks in a row with a clean sweep of winners! This is FAI Cup opening weekend so bets are kept to smalls. Bohs should be too strong for a poor Wexford team while Dundalk will want revenge for their embarrassing result against Cobh last week in the Semi Final of the League Cup, Dundalk have home advantage this time so their astro will play to their advantage. No Handicap up on St. Pats but a -2.5 would be worth it on them inplay.

    Bohemians -1.5 (Asian) or -1 (Euro) @ 1.75 (Bet365/Boyles) - Small Stake
    Dundalk -2.75 (Asian) @ 1.80 (Bet365) - Small Stake

Hopefully we can continue the good picks and make it 4 weeks in a row with a clean sweep of winners! Shels with a must win game to keep up the chances of getting 2nd spot (one less set of playoff games compared to 3rd/4th places). Cork with a must win too to keep pushing away from Dundalk with their games in hand, Pats have lost their last 5 away League games - failing to score in 3 of them.

    Shelbourne -1.5 (Asian) or -1 (Euro) @ 1.80 (General) - Small Stake

Edit ....only Rovers lets it down, overs came in 7 of the 8 games.

No pre-game bets - odds opened up tasty enough on Cork City but they've been hammered in so all value gone. Potentially an inplay bet on them after 15 minutes if it's 0-0. Keep an eye in the FB group (I may or may not get to post here any inplay bet).

    From racing post-

    UCD
    4pts 8-15 Paddy Power
UCD to win the FAI Cup
    1pt 28-1 BoyleSports
    Bohemians -1 on Asian handicap
    5pts 23-20 bet365

UCD are more backable at 8-15 against CIE Ranch at Greenogue. Peamount United's ground will suit free-flowing College, who are worth a small interest at 28-1 to go all the way, given their excellent First Division campaign. They have ridden their luck with the draw and should be safely in the last eight.

Bohemians are one of the Premier Division's form sides and it should be noted that Galway's matches against the five teams above them have yielded a single win all season in the second tier.

They were blown apart by Longford last Friday and it is hard to see anything other than a comfortable Bohemians win at Eamonn Deacy Park, with this competition likely to be targeted by Bohs, who are safe from relegation.

No idea how he's doing lately, but he had a howler on Cork a few weeks ago. 5pt bet and all.

No bets last week with it being Cup weekend, only Cork caught our eye but odds didn't last whatsoever. This week we go with Rovers following on from their 2-1 win against Dundalk on Tuesday. Bray sit bottom with 15 points from 29 games and a -57 GD. Rovers will be out to keep pressure on Waterford for that 3rd spot and the European spot. We fancy Drogs to push UCD at home - Drogs with an excellent home record this season will be looking to win to secure their playoff spot while table toppers UCD had a near slip up against Cobh and non League CIE ranch in the past two weeks.

Shamrock Rovers -1.5 (Asian) or -1 (Euro) @ 1.85 (General) - Medium Stake
    Cork City -1 (Asian) @ 1.80 (General) - Small/Med Stake
Drogheda DNB or 0 (Asian) @ 1.80 (General) - Small Stake
