Evan heads to engineering, checks the fuel situation and if there's a jumpsworth starts prepping calculations. Just in case.

Then he looks at whether or not any of the payloads for the ships arsenal are accessable without a spacewalk and if yes, he has a little chat with Glenn
All nukes and thermal bombs are accessible within the ship.

Reports from the fuel tank reports near full fuel capacity, the logs indicating the ship hasn't jumped in four years. The calculations for the baby universe's shape get underway.

    Gospis shouts out.

"I have two nukes heading toward the pods....will I...fire counter-nukes Master Droyne? Evan?"

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

Gospis gets nervous and fires off four nukes at the two heading for Verne and Dhinor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

The nuke heading toward Verne arrives first, as he is taking the shorter arc to the pirate ship.

Verne first sees it approach as only a faint orange light, the reflection of the sun on its carapace. It then rapidly pulls away from Verne, heading toward the Grandfather's Hammer.

Dhinor's missle has no such intent, his pod sensor's light up indicating only three minutes until impact.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

The first two counter-nukes head straight toward the nuke originally aimed at Verne. They do a complex zigzag as they swing for it, it activates dodging subroutines, and they turn around. Eventually though the Grandfather's Hammer wins the dance as one of their nukes slams into the pirate ship's nuke.

The other nuke recalculates its flight path and deactivates path correction boosters as it speeds to the aid of the two defending Dhinor.

Ooc : how are they targeting us, out of interest?

"Sure, fire away. Glenn, I've a warhead here I've fitted with a timer. It's dhinors alarm clock. Anyway, instead of jumping drones to the ship, take this and we'll nuke them from the inside. Obviously after you're back. We're going to jump before that incoming missile hits us though."

OOC: Ramjet scoops on nukes picking up exhaust fumes from pods and following them backward.

Dhinor sees the missile head for him and three other nukes come into view, one of them at a massive speed.

The sensors in his pod go wild showing their flight trajectories. However the Newtonian physics of the situation is obvious. Two of the Grandfather's Hammer's nukes will impact the one from the pirate ship. Unfortunately it'll be close enough to Dhinor for him to receive a huge dose of radiation.

All he sees is the void and then white, white bright enough that he sees the bones in his hand.

Gospis alerts the others that the pirates are on the Vainglorious now, drilling into its hull.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

Verne feels a thud as his pod smashes into the side of the pirate ship. The vibrations from the drill beneath his feet shake the interior of his pod.

The meditation has focused his mind. All there is now is the kill.

OOC: It wouldn't be gamma radiation would it?

    DHINOR SMASH

2 drones on VG advised to move if their location is being drilled.

    DHINOR SMASH
OOC: Yes, but the non-cool real life kind. Hulk in ER.

The drones report back dodging the incoming drill and a kill. Ballistics weapons killed pod inhabitant at common room.

Dhinor's vision is only restored shortly before he hits the pirate ship hull, pod scanners indicate severe genetic damage and radiation sickness, medical treatment necessary within three hours.

Looks like he's drilling into the engine room. He can even see Verne's pod drilling into the gunner's hatch.

OOC: Ha! Have spent bloody ages trying to sign in and get Rolz to behave itself on my phone, and when I finally rolled I got another bloody 5! I think teleportation is off the menu...

Verne unsheathes his battle axe and says a prayer to his god for strength and courage in the coming battle. He breaks through the hull (or goes through the airlock - still not entirely sure how this thing is working) and lands in the pirate ship ready for action. He quickly surveys his surroundings and heads towards the nearest warm body he can sense. There will be no negotiating today.

Dhinor swings the negotiator at some part of the engine that looks important.

OOC: With the +2 it's a 7, so it can be a success with a consequence, you choose...

Glenn focuses his mind with all his strength, his vision of the pirate ship is almost perfect enough to teleport, but the distance is making it hard. He focuses, but he just needs to push a bit more....

Klaxons sound throughout the pirate ship.

WARNING FUSION ENGINE HAS UNDERGONE CRITICAL CONTAINMENT RISK.

Dhinor checks a console for reference and heads to an escape pod, aiming it for their new ship.

He was gagging for a fight but radiation sickness won't have him killing many today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 35,024 ✭✭✭✭Baggly

    Not with his sword anyway....

The ships captain turns the corner with a laser rifle.

"Looking a bit sun burnt there pal."

One of the pirates runs straight for the Gunner Station has Verne cleaves open the hull.

He stops briefly in shock, the massive Aslan towering over him.

Verne however does not pause. His hind legs allow him to leap past the young pirate in one bound, before the pirate can turn his neck it's separated from his shoulders in one clean movement.

Verne stands in the corridor with his axe a lovely red. He sees the door for the bridge and the ladder for the drive room.

Dhinor rolls his eyes to heaven and throws his sword at the captain hilt over blade as hard as he can. He throws himself to the side after he does so, just in case the captain gets off a lucky shot.

    OOC: Blade[Dexterity], Diff: +0. +2 overall.

    The ship shakes.

KaaKra picks up his rifle and heads straight for drive room. The hulking K'Kree is angry.

Verne makes his way towards the bridge, killing all crew that pass him.

[OOC: assuming that was a ship wide communication which verne would've heard]
