Seagulls on the east coast are acting very strange. I wonder do they feel something coming.

Same out my way on the south east coast.....

The're too small. I reckon we'll need a fetch of at least 50 km to get showers properly going.

How about the shannon estuary ?

Stick down "buyer must collect" on the ad for the craic.

    'Location: Sugarloaf mountain".

I noticed the seagulls too this morning!

Dropped my son off to school (which I do a couple of days each week) and the playing pitches were covered by seagulls. I can't remember seeing so many of them before!

Every time I pick up my iPad and open this page, I get that awful funny nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach and the above post very nearly started an anxiety attack!

Since we're on seagull watch between charts, the Brent geese flock went back out to Poolbeg before lunchtime today, they don't usually go until around this time in the afternoon...

Slight breeze and its not very warm out, hardly bitterly cold yet. Looking forward to some more dry days to help the pitches recover.

This GFS run is so snowy that if it came to pass it would probably tip us into economic recession.

You have to assume ESB and Water may be affected so...

    Candles
    Matches
    Torches
    Batteries
    Firelighters
    Extra Solid Fuel
Water (5l containers that can refilled)
    Portable gas stove?
    Teabags/Coffee
    Sleeping bags
    High energy foods
    First Aid kit (check it)
    Advance Medication prescriptions
    Radio

I'd never have thought of water! Good thinking. I can't believe I forgot that as water was gone in my estate for a week or two in 2010.

Anyone point me to a good resource for learning more about interpretation of charts please ???
I've got the basics from O level Geography but would love to learn more...

More specifically being how you predict precipitation

    Thanks in advance

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,064 ✭✭✭squarecircles

just WOW. even -3 in western coastal extremities where even getting to scrape to 0 is difficult.

The stock of portable snow shovels in Argos is beginning to diminish. Aint no sales assistants laughing now.

As an alternative, a cheap dustpan and brush is a great thing to have in the car, the brush takes loose snow off quickly and the pan is as good as a small shovel for dry snow. Couple of quid well spent.

    O.K....

What you can do is start a new thread.

Once that thread is opened, I will close this thread immediately.

After the entire event has passed, I will merge threads.
