You can see the more organised showers forming behind the warm sector on Met.ie radar now.

Expect things to ramp up significantly in the next 2-3 hours.

Only status orange warning until 11am tomorrow and yellow beyond that from Met Eireann. Now I know that it will be at least orange tomorrow because I have been following the reports.

But is it a bit odd that the orange warning has not at least been extended beyond 11am tomorrow as of yet, 19 hours out. It would imply that conditions should ease after that but that is contrary to the forecast.

Perhaps Met Eireann are contemplating issuing a red warning for tomorrow afternoon onwards but the implications for this would mean that in the afternoon/evening no one should "make unnecessary journeys" etc. However, people would already be in work. Therefore, 3 days of status red possibly

It's mad to consider what's coming down the line considering the sunshine in Dublin right now

I agree but likely localized from area to area.

Yes. Will also be interesting to see how far inland the ppn max will be

Sorry if daft question, so does that mean we won't have an update now on warning level until 11am tomorrow?

It’s been very reminiscent of March 2013 here today in Dublin; bitterly cold wind, occasional quickly passing shower of snow and graupel and no accumulation, and otherwise really bright and pleasant despite the cold.

Should be a big change coming in an hour or two.

Awesome, only 7,500,000 times colder than it can actually get in the known universe. I have been colder than that in Edinburgh previously though.

Pretty cool to watch, it's like a mist rolling in! Didn't expect anything this far west today though?

The showers on the radar in the Irish sea seem to be holding together a lot better and even intensifying a bit, just passed the Isle of Man and heading in a Dublin direction right in time for rush hour, hopefully they will hold together and this shall start it off...

Keep going (& growing) looking a bit north of Dublin city at the moment if it doesn't break up
