Well if Dublin is getting pounded then that's an all nighter for me :) . I'm on break tomorrow and Thursday and if a red warning is issued for Friday then I'm off till next Tuesday.

Lads, just got back from a walk on northside of Cork city and the wind is ferocious and it’s snowing (albeit lightly) so I think that constitutes a blizzard :-D
I brought the dog for a walk and turned back and it's sticking to the road and it's definitely snowing with bits of sleet mixed in. As leahyl says the wind is bitter.

    Any time frame?

Should peak between 3am and 8am. Morning rush hour could be disastrous in Dublin tomorrow.

Is Wednesday likely to change to a full red warning? Will we find out when the current orange warning is over at 11:00 tomorrow or earlier? Thanks

Met Éireann precipitation chart at 9pm. South Cork seeing heaviest falls. Extremely light or non existence pretty much everywhere else.
    It's a different story by 2am tomorrow:

It's highly likely there will be warnings tomorrow morning for Thursday. I doubt they will leave it any later.

just popping in now to say that we have a small covering on cars and roads in Hollywood,co.Wicklow from earlier shower, also a small tip for radar watchers, if any shower hits you back yard, go to Met.ie rainfall radar and play animation backwards to see where exactly your blob generated, it will give you a good idea which shower in Irish sea will most likely hit you, as the flow will quite stable now :)

Jesus, I hope we don't get the apocalypse people are expecting. Tesco in Cabra West https://imgur.com/a/47MpC

Looks like tin food, dried food, frozen food un-touched. And this stuff https://imgur.com/a/GvmOE , a snowmageddon can't even shift this stuff!

Email from UCD to advise that there may be closures coming. Lots of UCD twitter accounts cancelling lectures and events scheduled for tomorrow....I wonder is there an updated warning coming this evening?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,685 ✭✭✭SleetAndSnow

Still nothing in D16. Family and friends here are rounding on me for suggesting this might be a bad snow event. Some are seriously P/Od
