You cannot compare this to 2010! Get a grip.

In Dublin 15 between November and December there was over three weeks of deep snow and ice.......with temperatures as low as - 15......so no comparison despite tonight's heavy snowfall in Dublin/Wicklow.

    I'd say there's about 4-5cm in D24 right now.
Starting to pick up in intensity the past 10 mins or so

Crumlin, you’ve out done yourself tonight

Almost 8 years since a thread like this guys... Oh how I wish we had this every year

I was about to reply, nah we had something decent in 2010. Oh yeah that was 8 years ago :o

It just doesn't feel like that long ago. Nearly a decade. My god.

They're comparing the snowfall intensity and amounts as opposed to the spell as a whole.

This is the first day, we could well be still having this conversation this day next week looking at some models.

It's just the very beginning of the event....of course comparisons can be made!

Id have to agree tho imby anyway. Nowhere near the intensity or amounts of the heaviest snowfall of 2010.

I went for a walk around the block in 2010 one night and by the time I got back to the house I was knee deep.

It's taken about 4 hours to get 4cm tonight. No comparison.. yet.

M9 and M7 from Kilcullen to Naas have about 4 inches of snow lying but I did meet ploughs.

Very strange shower I posted a video of earlier as I left TV3 it was like huge Graupel?

Drizzly snow kind of stuff here near UCD the last few hours. Hoping the intensity picks up a bit through the night.

Drifting here - the snow is blowing all over the place.

It would really help if this sector of the Irish sea didn't keep falling off radar (either that or the precip is varying wildly in intensity out there)

It has been belting for the last while, most of what has fallen has been in the last hour.
