Nothing at all has landed in Galway but it is snowing the lightest flurry I've ever seen. Enjoy the snow elsewhere!

Nothing that has happened until now justifies a red alert, the alert if for what is going to happen. Righty or wrongly I guess they expect today won't be as bad in Limerick as in other parts fo the country.

I'm not talking about the red warning, more the orange that manages to encompass most of the surrounding counties but doesn't mention Limerick. Would have been nice to get some sort of heads up.

If people took the HIRLAM seriously like myself and Weathercheck were yesterday... it's exactly as predicted.

'Light low drifting snow' being reported at Dublin AP at 0800.

Not often we see that in Ireland (with our usual wet/sloppy snow).

snowing here in clare. We are quite high up, the snow is fine but is laying. I wouldnt drive in this but himself will. I hate snow guys...... hate it :(
Kids loving it though so I suppose I should just smile.

Nothing has irritated me more than all the people online beatching about the people buying bread or preparing. Honest to god. Or those that are like its only a bit of snow lads. Since 2010 I remember the fear when himself has to drive from Galway to Sligo and back.... took 8 hours more than it should have and he witnesses five car write offs. In a back wheel drive bmw etstate.

If the snow is lying like this here in Clare and we have two more days to go of it then i do worry for some of the older people in this area who have little country cottages , no gritting. I hope they have enough fuel. Round thes eparts people bake their own bread. Stay safe anyway..... I wont be leaving the house until it goes. x

Indeed. 8 to 10cm fell here in Kinsale and it is starting to snow again. Reports on radio of trucks stuck on local roads.

So is there to be more snowfall in Dublin?

  • Registered Users Posts: 126 ✭✭Aruba08

Waterford city is beautiful and so was that text from work to stay home. All white. I have been a fly on the wall for the past week here and my heart felt thanks to all who are so passionate, warned us and got it right. I don't understand the graphs and charts but you all explained it so well. I am prepared because of here. Stay safe and warm every one
