Looks like some showers to hit Dublin and surrounding area from around 3:30 or so? :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 461 ✭✭DaithiMa

Pelting it down now for the last 5/10 mins a few miles north of Tuam. Very powdery dry snow. Delighted for all those in the East that were looking for snow and got it, but great to finally see some falling out this way too!

snowing in Cork south suburbs again and radar suggests a lot of snow here in the next 4 hours. particularly big blob incoming in 30 mins

Snowing a bit in Cork City at the moment, surprised we got as much as we did this morning. Caused a good bit of disruption in some areas.

Going into work soon, will see if we're off tomorrow then.

Any guidance on whether Dublin will get more snow from streamers later? I though by MT’s forecast we’d have more by now, maybe I’m wrong?

And that line of snow showers can be seen in a line heading north skirting parts of Mayo and into Sligo
It has been trying to snow here outside Sligo for the past two hours but looking outside now I think we are about to get the same as ye had

Then it will blow your mind that there are townlands beside each other in Meath called Muff and Knobber.

I have actually been on the Knobber-Muff road

Have you been to Beaverstown in Tipperary or North Co Dublin whilst you going or coming from Muff?

Pft, that's not cheated. I'm in the middle of the "red alert" here in Wicklow and there is nothing. It's actually a lovely sunny day here and got loads done around the place!

If they were over Dublin the site would be in meltdown

Very minimal thawing here in Clondalkin. I expect a few more light/moderate showers before sundown, before another quiet period, and probably of more explosive heavy showers overnight. Quiet morning tomorrow before ramping up in the afternoon. Many places will see prelude heavy snow showers before the actual band of heavy precip arrives Thursday evening.

Would they be able to localize forecasts that well? What with the wind blowing snow all over the place, the snow doesn’t exactly obey county lines.

Good point, would probably need more stations.
