Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    See.

Utd are capable against these teams when they're behind and have no choice.

    Hamstrung by the manager's philosophy?

    I'm genuinely confused.

De Gea ****s up and Lukaku scores. I'd never thought I'd see the day.

The irony of Hazard hurting himself whilst diving there. :pac:

Chelsea wouldn’t have conceded there if Christiansen didn’t act like a bit*h. :)

Stupid from the defender to get back up.

    Morata is brutal..

Take a free kick 10 yards from where it should have been while the ball is rolling....yeah typical alright

No, he didn't jump. His own tough luck I feel.

United carry a big threat up top but Chelsea are winning the midfield battle. The pattern of the game in the second half is likely to be Chelsea carving out more opportunities and United looking to hit them on the counter at pace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Utd play like the away team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,159 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

    Another hazard dive.

Why doesn't pogba shoot anymore. He used to love a shot.

Morata is frustrating. He spends more time on the ground than actually being useful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

We’ve been the better team and probably should be winning. Willian has been brilliant, Matic has been dreadful for United.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,627 ✭✭✭Sgt Pepper 64

    ref costing points again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,561 ✭✭✭Umaro

Entertaining game so far. Lukaku's goal was massive for Utd confidence.

What a class player Willian is. Morata has been terrible for Chelsea though, and responsible for several of their attacks breaking down.

Looking forward to the second half.

Not having a go at you in particular here, so don't take it personal. Lots on here do it. Why do people on here say "free" instead of "free kick"? To me, "free" is a GAA term.

Matic has been fouling like the clappers. The sooner he gets a yellow the better.

Exactly he didn’t spot the Chelsea handball for their goal. So annoying.

Why, did he choose Morata up front?

I have never played GAA and do not like the sport and I call it a free. Free-in and free-out is standard language in football.

Get Giroud on , should cause more damage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Game is fairly similar to Ireland vs Wales in the first half yesterday. Chelsea like Ireland have had more possession and territory and should have a clear lead but United like Wales go in at the break still in this game. Hoping the end result goes a bit differently in this instance though...

I think Matic is having a good game.... shutting a lot of Chelsea's attacks down

Couple of dodgey passes, but he seems to have 1 or 2 in him most games

    That’s Morata. :pac:

He’s fouling a lot and giving the ball away.

A lot of criticism of the Utd CBs for that goal, whereas McTominay is getting a free ride for his all round uselessness.

Maybe the same reason people say peno instead of penalty, or 'keeper instead of goalkeeper. I think you're trying to look for a GAA reference where there isn't one.

I spent my first twenty years in Manchester, and I never heard the term "free" (or "peno" for that matter) in relation to football. I've only ever heard "free" used in commentary in GAA matches.

Was nothing to do with the united defense.

Chelsea players clutching at straws if they think that was an elbow from Matic. If anything, Morata jumped into him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

It's still mad the way a club like Man U continue to play Chris Smalling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

    take that Morata off

It's just like watching Sanchez for Arsenal. Gives the ball away, opposition breaks to the other end and almost scores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

How is Willian not the first name on Chelsea's teamsheet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Pogba has been superb this half so far.

Martial's a liability out there. Every time he gets it he loses it within seconds.

You must have the sound turned off during games if you've never heard a commentator refer to a free kick as a free.
