Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi! My husband got a winter jacket as a gift and its really nice. However its too small for him and a bit large for me, I would say its 3 sizes up for me. I was wondering if this can be altered to a ladies fit? Any recommendations on places that can do it that will not cost an arm and a leg? Thanks!

What's it like on the shoulders? If much work has to be done on them, you're unlikely to get a decent fit on it at all, and 3 (ish) dress sizes is probably fairly sizeable.

Go to a good seamstress. Three dress sizes is probably a bit too much because as the fabric is cut back around the arm hole, you’ll have a larger hole, meaning a big roomy arm at the top. It’ll be the shoulder and arm openings that will be the tricky part. Usually two dress sizes is the most that it cold be brought down by but a good seamstress might be able to work wonders. For example, you might be able to add a strip of a different colour somewhere at the shoulders to combat the size of the arm hole.

Well said Salthillporn! anything is possible it sounds like a garment that is well worth re inventing! I know of a girl that inherited a v hi class designer coat from her grandmother rip got it downsized from a size 16 to 12 to wear to Royal Ascot.
