We all know what happened. The beardy woke blokes went along with the TRAs and thought it was an opportunity to virtue signal their wokeness. A lot of them are too heavily invested now to back down, but the smarter ones seem to be jumping ship. A couple of Guardian journalists are now expressing surprise at some leaking reports from Tavistock which seem to show that they were basically experimenting on kids.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,543 ✭✭✭Dante7

Does anyone remember the kid's show in the 80s where they would ask a question and the kids then had to jump into the colour section that recorded their vote? They all jumped into the section that they thought their mates would jump into. Then, there would be a bit more information and in the last few seconds, some kids would jump to the other answer. That's what's happening with Guardian journalists now.

Yeah, that's Valerie on the left with her little bro in the middle and Big sister on the right. McKinnon and her mates will use a particular photo/moment to exaggerate their point. If you look at any footage or pictures of Adams you would realise she is not as tall or as muscular as the particular picture McKinnon retweets (it's always the same picture) really portrays. Mckinnon is just using that particular picture for effect.

The Adams' are clearly a big atheltic family. Sport should protect the genetic outliers, the naturally talented and the hard workers.

Wasn't there a case in a US college recently where a male wrestler who kept coming second decided to identify as a women and went and won the women's section ,

To show how stupid it was the guy who won the heavyweight section decided to say he was being fat shamed and identified as a 155lbs athlete and went and won the light weight division ,

PC is gone mad and people need to cope themselves on,

What? That's spoof lad will you ever go on.

Helpless aside - Wow, how come I haven't heard of this Steven Adams before? Looks like the whole human race could do with a little Islander in them.... for the good of evolution, like :)

Long article in yesterdays Guardian where Katrina Karkazis, an anthropologist, who coincidentaly has a book on Testosterone that she needs to launch, attempts to use the exception fallacy to prove that there is no such thing as ''true sex''. Like we never knew women have testosterone in their bodies too..
The answer is that there is no simple definition of what a biological male is.
For decades, sports governing bodies have sought a single biological criterion by which to exclude some women from the female category; yet the idea of a true sex is mistaken, and tries to make something incredibly complex seem simple and binary. The latest effort claims gonads – and the testosterone they have a role in producing – as the key factor in what constitutes a “biological male”. But to reduce sex to a single trait is to profoundly mischaracterise decades of research into sex biology. The science is clear: there is no single physiological or biological marker that allows for the simple categorisation of people as male or female. Gonads were once thought to define one’s sex. In the 1800s. By the 1950s scientists had identified at least six markers of sex: chromosomes, gonads, hormones, secondary sex characteristics, external genitalia and internal genitalia. While these markers may align along a female-typical or male-typical path, that’s not always the case.

    ........
What is clear is that testosterone is not the unique essential ingredient for success across every conceivable sport. Labelling women “biological males” draws a dubious connection between sex, testosterone, and athleticism that relies on long-discarded ideas that men and women can have a “true sex”, that testosterone is a “male sex hormone”, and that testosterone is the key to superior athleticism. None of these are true, and it’s long overdue that people stop saying they are.

    Etc etc - https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/06/testosterone-biological-sex-sports-bodies?CMP=twt_gu

McKinnon is going after Kelly Holmes now and is trying to get her dropped by companies she works with. She's making an absolute show of herself. Nasty person

There's men who have come out in support of Martina but for some reason they don't get targeted in the same way. Why does McKinnon have such an issue with successful female athletes? Bitter much?

That's always the tactic, hound them out of their jobs, harass sponsors.

It's so pathetic, like running to the teacher.

    Misogyny? Ironically. Maybe?

Without the mainstreaming of the idea that transwomen ARE ACTUAL women, McKinnon would just have been another nutty professor, and probably have a diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder, or some such lark.

I don't even know where to begin with that bollocks she's coming out with.

Then she better contact the various sports anti doping bodies and tell them it's OK for male athletes to dope with testosterone because it doesn't confer any advantages. Not. It's pretty much the ground zero anabolic steroid and since tests came out for it the cheaters have been running an arms race to find an analogue that gives the same results and isn't detectable.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Yeah, I just kept blinking while reading it, and raising my eyebrows. And this is some sort of qualified person. Very odd.

Here is a quote from her - "T (ie testosterone) has become a powerful technology for the production of subjectivity, the most consequential of which is gender."

Pure quackery. This is what happens when extreme ideologies worm their way into science.

For me this movement is going to get dangerous when combat sports have to allow transgender males to compete. What is going to happen if a women is killed in a mma or boxing or similar event?

It’s already happening, Fallon Fox has already cracked the skull of a female opponent

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,839 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

That Fallon Fox fight was savagery.

Another round and she would have died.

It is fine for activists looking for a cause to claim no difference.

A new low for McKinnon who has now said:

Well their "arguments" are such weak tea the only option is to go for broke while heading for the scrapings at the bottom of the arguments barrel.

Rachel McKinnon, who has been mentioned many times in this thread, got a very temporary ban from Twitter for tweeting that they wished cis people would die in a ''grease fire''.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D20xXe8U8AEFFVt.jpg

Interestingly McKinnon also used ''CIS'' as a deliberate slur, in spite of the ongoing attempts to foist the word onto the world as a descriptor of sex/gender, by combining it with transphobe and terf in a rant, viz ''You are CIS''.

Meanwhile Athlete Ally, which was established in 2011 to ''focus on making athletic communities more inclusive and less discriminatory and help athletes to advocate for LGBTQ equality'' continues to maintain Rachel McKinnon as a ''Pro Ambassador''.

They sacked Martina Navratilova from her position on their advisory board at the end of February 2019 for what they called her ''tranphobic op-ed'' in The Sunday Times.

I wouldn't recommend the LGBT community getting into an us versus them scenario in terms of violent crime. If that becomes legitimate we are going back to the bad old days.

Unpopular opinion but people who think they are the opposite sex have mental issues or refuse to accept chemistry
    ,
If you would "PREFER" to be a man or a women fair enough each to there own that is your own preference but you will always be the sex born

Biology born a man or a women its the lottery ,its your DNA its what your made off you can NOT change it ,

If you wish to "PRETEND" or would "PREFER" to be another sex that's fine that your choice but you are still the sex you where born , doesn't matter what you do ,

Again I don't care do what you like and be who you like makes no difference to me but Biology is Biology

Unless of course you are hermaphrodite

Selina Soule, 16 years old, makes a plea on behalf of all female high-school athletes - don't pass law that will enable male-bodied athletes to compete against girls in high schools throughout US.

Interesting to hera her feelings as one of the previous top athletes in her State.

There's a big issue with college scholarships developing.

Females athletes are going to be at a disadvantage going forward, but that's the price they'll have to pay it seems.

It's just crazy to think biological males have no advantage in sports over females. If testerone is not an advantage then why is it banned at all for anyone?

Women and girls may as well stop competing if this continues.
