We are Snowed in down here(Wexford) it is bitterly cold, anyone that got stuck out in it would not last long, Sorry if you think I'm been dramatic but that's the way it is right now in this Storm.

Nice bit of snow here in bantry in last couple of hrs, first snow of the day,very small light flakes almost glass like at the moment, very calm too with not even the slightest breeze

I'm not complaining about warning levels or anything like that. Simply frustrated at literally zero accumulation in my corner of Bray after 3 hours of this on top of frustration at that damn easterly wind shift meaning we only got 5cm on Tuesday night and nothing at all on Wednesday.

I feel ya man, when growing up in Dublin as a kid it pissed me off a whole lot that snow was all around me and nothing where I was at times and vice versa like now for you. Things like the Isle of Man Shadow can simple make it bypass where you are at, its brutal, but at least, if you work, you hopefully got a day or two of work.

No expert but from what the experts on the tech discussion thread were saying it seems like the warm front ahead of Emma is passing over and we may get into the good stuff...not complaining mind you, have over a foot of snow and easy over two in drifts against fences and shed in the garden from today...
Cant wait to see what could be added to it tonight...

At sea level in Balbriggan its definitely been snow. Patches of snow cover that had melted during the day are white again. There are new LED streetlights outside and small snow grains clearly visible.
There have been blue flashes in the sky and reports of power outages in north county Dublin and coastal meath.
The wind is relentless, just constant noise.

Crappy phone pic of the M50 from Firhouse pedestrian bridge about an hour ago. Snow is beginning to form deep drifts already. One side of the street could be completely bare ice while the other is at least 8 inches deep.

2010 was awesome but it was "Disney snow" compared to what's just beginning to unfold now. It feels ominous out there tonight.

The red level I think is primarily there because of the blizzard, which would mean vicious driving conditions of low visibility, high winds and slippery roads. There could also be a few trees down, obscured by drifts of snow.

Tomorrow at 6am the high winds and blizzard may have passed, but the roads will still be dangerous with snow and ice. "Not safe" depends on your wifes confidence in those types of conditions.

I am pretty much sure however much the doggos need her its not worth risking her life. If you cant see the road its not for driving on. Madra dont need any more desperate drama after the van incident, tell her she could cause them more hurt than good by trying to get there.

The red alert is for weather conditions, just because its lifted doesn't suddenly mean roads are safe to drive on
