No experience with RFID but have had GPS trackers in my last 3 vans. I see no cons other than the negligible cost of the equipment and usage, or perhaps the risk that it might spontaneously combust someday.

I set them up on this website (geo-fencing etc) and use their app to monitor location in real-time.
