Ah nuts looks like they've lost cameras out on the road.

    Valverde may win....just saying

I hope he doesn't. I find him way more repugnant than Jiffygate.

The look on her face during the last live shots on the road was unreal, totaly calm and relaxed. Like out for a leisurely spin relaxed. One hell of bike rider and the ones chasing were no slouches, serious talent there too.

I can't think of another one day race that manages to have such a mix of top class GC riders and classics specialists. Some line up today!

Shíte... Didn't realise that this would finish so early today.

Less than 24 km to go

Ok im very confused. I watched Kwiatkowski win this an hour ago?

Or was that a replay of last year or something?

Edit: Yup. ****ing Eurosport confusing me.

Hopefully him and Bardet hold the gap, like to see Van Aert win but Bardet's experience will probably be the difference.

Id never have pegged bardet to be in the mix for this

    Was wondering about the gap

Don't remember the Eurosport cameras picking that up either

Yeah that would be exactly what would happen to me riding up that after 4 hours on the bike even on a pan flat 180km prior to it :pac:

Glad the live tv cameras didn't pick it up after his effort today didn't deserve to be remembered for that.

Strongest man won, OK, but Benoot has been a coming success for the past two years and today was a great confirmation of his potential. Performance of the day has to be Van Aert though..........from a limited road history to third in SB2018. Fantastic result and he left some serious contenders in this wake today.

    Great race

Great race, pity the camera work was woeful at the end, at least it wasn't as bad as the women's race! No camera on any rider from about 5k to go until the last 100m!! Timed it great today with the turbo :) hoping tomorrows is even half as good

Very frustrating coverage of the women's race on Eurosport. Caught the last few k (there was snooker on for an age) in a friends house. They mentioned Anna Van Der Breggan who was off the front and Elisa Longo Borgini who was trying to bridge across. At no time did they mention any of the names of the 7 riders just behind them, bar Kasia Niewiadoma when she attacked and bridged across to Borgini for second. Even after the race!
The coverage finished with the words 'That was a nice warm up for the men's race'. ffs

Not familiar with the lads commentating at all. Was it Jo Rowsell Shand with Kirby for the track champs this week? Could have at least given her the gig to credibly call the ladies race with Rob Hatch maybe, they've made a very good commentary pairing in the past imo.

I don't even think Chantal Blaak got a mention and she was in the group there chasing. Sure she's only a current world champ  and Ellen van Dijk was there too for sunweb, current EU TT champ.

I watched the women’s race. It was a terrible finish. Had to rely on the local commentator to know what was going on.

Was a bit of a repeat of the mens race at the worlds last year. Lost cameras out on course due to the weather I think. From reading elsewhere other broadcasters cut to the mens race after a few minutes and never went back
